FFmpeg stops encoding when log file reaches 388 kB
30 janvier 2018, par Rune AspvikI’m using ffmpeg in a node application with this command :
ffmpeg -seekable 0 -i http://127.0.0.1:8100/Mjpeg/1?authToken=xxx -video_size 1280x720 -r 30 -pix_fmt yuv420p -y D:\Video\pflyers\test.mp4
The encoding would stop after 28:53 every time. After some reading I figured I had to spawn the child instead of exec because of the large sterr output.
Before doing that I wanted to see if that was in fact the issue so I tried doing :
-nostats -hide_banner -loglevel panic
to avoid the large output to sterr. FFmpeg still stopped after 28:53. Further I tried to write the sterr to log.txt instead of using the above code. I did so adding this to the end :
2> log.txt
Still it would stop at 28:53.
Finally I tried running the command in cmd.exe resulting in the encoding stopping at 29:14.
What I realized comparing the outputs from ffmpeg run from node and run from cmd.exe was that the encoding stopped when the log.txt reached 388kB.
How can I fix this ?
Here’s the full output :
C:\Users\VossVind>ffmpeg -seekable 0 -i http://127.0.0.1:8100/Mjpeg/1?authToken=xxx -video_size 1280x720 -r 30 -pix_fmt yuv420p -y D:\Video\pflyers\test.mp4

How to solve file path error while using ffprobe to find length of video file in python ?
4 février 2018, par Mitchell FaasSo, I’m trying to find the length of a video file by the methods discussed here : How to get the duration of a video in Python ?, Using ffmpeg to obtain video durations in python. But in doing so I run in to a problem which I haven’t been able to solve : I get
FileNotFoundError:[WinError 2] The system cannot find the file specified
after trying a bunch of troubleshooting steps I’ve started running in IPython and in cmd seperately to see where things might break down. Using a stripped down version of this code in IPython gives me
In [11]: subprocess.Popen([ffmpeg_path+'ffprobe'], stdout=subprocess.PIPE, stderr=subprocess.STDOUT)
Out[11]:which seems to be fine, as is CMD at this point. So to adding slight complexity :
In [17]: subprocess.Popen([ffmpeg_path+'ffprobe -i "F:/tst.mp4"'], stdout=subprocess.PIPE, stderr=subprocess.STDOUT)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
FileNotFoundError Traceback (most recent call last)

991 finally:
992 # Child is launched. Close the parent's copy of those pipe
FileNotFoundError: [WinError 2] The system cannot find the file specified
</module>This crashes IPython. Running the very same command
ffprobe -i "F:/tst.mp4"
in CMD works like a charm. Here’s what I tried : Changing / to \ and \ , adding and removing quotes around the file path, changing the path to C :\tst.mp4.
Running the command
os.system(ffmpeg_path+'ffprobe -i "F:/tst.mp4")
does work. What could possibly be going wrong here ?

avcodec : v4l2_m2m : context : fix raising warning on POLLERR
9 janvier 2018, par Jorge Ramirez-Ortizavcodec : v4l2_m2m : context : fix raising warning on POLLERR
During the initialization stage, the codec attempts to get free
buffers from the driver before any have been queued (this is to keep
the code simple and generic)When the kernel driver detects this situation, it returns POLLERR in
revents and ffmpeg therefore raises a warning. This commit disables the warning since no buffers were queued to the
driver yet.Signed-off-by : Jorge Ramirez-Ortiz <jorge.ramirez-ortiz@linaro.org>
