• Split videos to chunks using Rails and streamio-ffmpeg

  I've followed this tutorial both parts 1 & 2,https://www.randygirard.com/how-to-create-a-video-upload-platform-using-ruby-on-rails-part-2/

  


  so now I am able to upload videos, convert them to mp4 and display them to the user, but the problem is I want to split the uploaded videos to chunks of 30 seconds each and

  


  return them to the user so he/she can use them for whatsapp status.

  


  This' my main goal !

  


  As I've mentioned earlier, i followed the tutorial above, all I need is how to integrate

  


  and use https://github.com/streamio/streamio-ffmpeg in my rails code for splitting videos

  


  to chunks. Thanks !

  


• Rotate mp4 videos without re-encoding

  I’m looking for a way to rotate videos shot with my Nexus 4 on my Debian Wheezy sytem. The videos are shot in portrait mode and I would like to rotate them to landscape mode. Preferably the rotation is command-line driven.

  I have found several previous questions which are hinting at a good solution but I can’t seem to manage to get it working.

  To begin with there was this question :

  But it indicates that ffmpeg is outdated and that I should use avconv. I found this question detailing the way to go forward.

  This made me using following command :

  avconv -i original.mp4 -vf "transpose=1" -codec:v libx264 -preset slow -crf 25 -codec:a copy flipped.mp4

  However, this is painstakingly slow (last test took me more than 6 hours for less than 3 minutes of footage) and does not result in a playable movie. I also get an error in logging output which states Mb Rate > level limit.

  Is there an issue here with the re-encoding ? Should I first re-encode the videos from my phone to another, more "workable" encoding before applying the rotations ? Or am I missing another important point ?

• How could I concatenate 3 videos in ffmpeg

  I’m using FFMPEG already for 2 videos and working fine with the following command

  ffmpeg -i intro.mp4 -c copy -bsf:v h264_mp4toannexb -f mpegts intermediate1.ts
  
  ffmpeg -i outro.mp4 -c copy -bsf:v h264_mp4toannexb -f mpegts intermediate2.ts
  
  ffmpeg -i "concat:intermediate1.ts|intermediate2.ts" -c copy -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc output.mp4

  but now I want to concatenate 3 videos or more how could I do that ?
