  • H264 decompression/decomposition into JPG - quality issues

    5 juin 2013, par Respectech

I'm trying to decode a 1920x1080 30fps h264 stream. Individual frames look outstanding in VLC media player (pausing the playback), but when I decode using avconv (ffmpeg has been deprecated and replaced by avconv), the frame quality is really poor by comparison (my primary complaint is blockiness).

    Here's how I am calling avconv :

    avconv -i video.h264 -s 1920x1080 -f image2 temp/images/video-%03d.jpg

Is there a jpg output setting for avconv ? I read what I suspected were the salient parts of the avconv documentation (namely, http://libav.org/avconv.html#image2-1), and couldn't find any way to specify the output jpg quality.

In addition, it appears avconv reads the entire stream before it starts decoding it, so if the stream is in progress, it only decodes to where the stream was when avconv started the decoding process. Is there any way around this ? In other words, if a 10-second-long stream is started at t seconds and avconv is started at t+1 seconds, avconv will only decode 1 second of the stream.

  • Issues building ffmpeg on Windows [closed]

    19 janvier 2024, par RKum

I have to use ffmpeg in our c++ Windows project. I have Visual Studio 2017.
For this I have to use ffmpeg-cpp.

ffmpeg-cpp is dependent on ffmpeg.

To build ffmpeg I am following instructions in https://ffmpeg.org/platform.html#Windows.

I installed MSYS2 MINGW64 using installer msys2-x86_64-20240113.exe.

But I am not seeing files like msys_shell.bat or mingw64_shell.bat or mingw32_shell.bat.

How do I get these files ?

Also if I run commands like pacman -S make pkgconf diffutils I get this error :

error : failed retrieving file 'pkgconf-2.1.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst' from mirror.iscas.ac.cn : SSL certificate problem : self-signed certificate in certificate chain

How to resolve this certificate issue ?

  • Discord.Py Opus Heroku Issues

    9 janvier 2019, par charguyy

I’m having trouble setting up my music bot to work with Heroku. It works perfectly fine on my host machine, however, I get an "Opus Not Loaded" error when I run the bot in Heroku. I already have a ffmpeg buildpack(https://github.com/jonathanong/heroku-buildpack-ffmpeg-latest.git), an apt buildpack (https://github.com/jonathanong/heroku-buildpack-ffmpeg-latest.git) with the Aptfile fully setup (see below), and I have an opus buildpack (https://github.com/dubsmash/heroku-buildpack-opus.git). I also have youtube_dl and discord.py[voice] in my requirements.txt file

Here is the contents of my Aptfile.

    build-essential
    unzip
    software-properties-common
    libopus-dev
    libffi-dev
    libsodium-dev

Here is the contents of my requirements.txt file

    discord.py[voice]
    youtube_dl

    Any help is appreciated :)
