  • invalid syntax while concat mpeg files on windows PYTHON

    I am tying to concatenate all mpeg files together in one new file in windows 7, I adjusted the environment variables and running the code from python shell but it gives invalid syntax. Any help as I am new to Python and ffmpeg library?

    My code:

    ffmpeg -f concat -i <(for f in glob.glob("*.mpeg"); do echo "file '$PWD/$f'"; done) -c copy output.mpeg

  • How to embed subtitles to .mp4 movie using ffmpeg

    I'm trying to embed subtitles I wrote to a movie I created.
    I'm using FFmpeg version: ffmpeg-20150418-git-edbb9b5-win64-static with the command:
    ffmpeg -i in.mp4 -f srt -i subs.srt -c:v copy -c:a copy -c:s mov_text out.mp4 I saw here.

    But I get errors during the process, and when the process is done there's an output file out.mp4 without subtitles embedded.
    When I play the in.mp4 in some player such as media player classic with the subtitles separately, the subtitles are sync and everything is fine.

    The subtitles are subrip encoded in UTF8.

    I tried to look out for these errors but didn't find anything useful. it seems something ridiculous.
    What am I doing wrong?

    If yes, How can i do it?

    In details: Ex: I got rtmp://mydomain.com/stream/redirect and i want this to redirect or fetch content/stream from rtmp://otherdomain.com/stream/

  • Use ffmpeg to add text subtitles

    I am trying to add text subtitles to an .mp4 container using ffmpeg:

    ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -i input.srt -map 0.0 -map 0.1 -map 1.0 output.mp4

    When I am trying to run this line, it gives me an error :

    Nmber of stream maps must match number of output streams.

    If I try to change the mp4 to mkv (although mp4 supports text subtitles), like this:

    ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -i input.srt -map 0.0 -map 0.1 -map 1.0 output.mkv

    It correctly maps the streams, but gives an error :

    Encoder (codec id 94210) not found for output stream #0.2

    When I launch

    ffmpeg -codecs

    I can see that srt codec is supported as decoder and encoder, however I am not sure what is used for mp4 and mkv subs encoding, and whether I need to switch it on or compile separately.

    I've installed ffmpeg on Ubuntu 16.04. Each time when I wanted to use pkg_config_path in a new terminal, I always had to type the following:

    export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="$HOME/ffmpeg_build/lib/pkgconfig"

    Is there a way where I can permanently set this path?
