FFMPEG : av_open_input_stream in latest ffmpeg
31 mars 2015, par user-agI was trying to read data from a buffer(instead of reading from file) for the purpose of live streaming. In the old version of FFMPEG it was supported using the API "av_open_input_stream". But in the FFMPEG version 2.2.2 this API apppears to be missing. I found the API "avformat_open_input" for reading from a file. Which API shall i use for the purpose of live streaming? It would be very thankfull if you could show the steps for live streaming using the API.

Issues grabbing frames from an mp4 video using ffmpeg on java
31 mars 2015, par TamirWI am trying to grab a few frames from an mp4 video files using the ffmpeg library (java). Code snippet below. The issues I'm facing are:
- In some (but not all) the videos I'm testing, I am getting the following warning when grabbing the frames:
[swscaler @ 0x7fa642a53600] bad src image pointers
- Sometimes, the frames I get are just blanks (black), sometimes they contain the last frame in the video (meaning that ALL the frames show the same image). Interestingly, when I'm not getting the above warning, the frames are just fine.
Any clue or direction about how to debug/solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
FFmpegFrameGrabber g = new FFmpegFrameGrabber(video); List
frames = new ArrayList (); try { g.start(); int i = 1, noOfFrames = g.getLengthInFrames(); long FR = Math.round(g.getFrameRate()); while (i < noOfFrames) { g.setFrameNumber(i); IplImage img = g.grab(); BufferedImage bimg = img.getBufferedImage(); frames.add(bimg); i += FR; } - In some (but not all) the videos I'm testing, I am getting the following warning when grabbing the frames:

encode h264 video using ffmpeg library memory issues
31 mars 2015, par ZeppaI'm trying to do screen capture on OS X using ffmpeg's
avfoundation

But, what I've observed is that for each frame thats been encoded, my memory usage goes up by about 6MB. Backtracking afterward usually leads one of the following two culprits:
- avf_read_frame function in avfoundation.m
- av_dup_packet function in avpacket.h
Can I also get advice on the way I'm using avio_open_dyn_buff function to be able to stream over http? I've also attached my ffmpeg library versions below:

How to convert raw H.264 stream from video call to mp4 file
30 mars 2015, par DanielI have captured a SIP point to point video call using wireshark and I used the program 'videosnarf' on Ubuntu 12.04 to extract the raw H.264 stream from the PCAP. I am having some problems with ffmpeg when trying to convert it to MP4. Below is the ffprobe output:
[STREAM] index=0 codec_name=h264 codec_long_name=H.264 / AVC / MPEG-4 AVC / MPEG-4 part 10 codec_type=video codec_time_base=1/2400000 codec_tag_string=[0][0][0][0] codec_tag=0x0000 width=704 height=396 has_b_frames=0 sample_aspect_ratio=1:1 display_aspect_ratio=16:9 pix_fmt=yuv420p level=51 r_frame_rate=25/1 avg_frame_rate=25/1 time_base=1/1200000 start_time=N/A duration=N/A [/STREAM]
Here is the command I used to generate the MP4:
ffmpeg -f h264 -i H264-media-3.264 -vcodec copy output.mp4
When I transfer the file to my Windows PC, I can't open the file in VLC. When opening in Windows Media Player (not sure the version but it's on Windows 8) it plays but very quickly (almost as if it's playing in fast forward. I also tried with:
ffmpeg -f h264 -i H264-media-3.264 -vcodec copy -r 25 output.mp4
I am able to play the raw H.264 stream using "MPC-HC" on Windows but I need it in MP4 format.

Is it possible to create a video from a live stream of bitmaps ?
30 mars 2015, par user3088260I have an application that gets single frame from the webcam roughly every 200 ms as a bitmap. I have used
AForge.Video.FFMPEG.VideoFileWriter
to create a video from a few of them, but the problem is that the stream must be closed for the bitmaps to be written to file and I want to add more bitmaps to the same file for days - like a CCTV camera. Is it possible to transcode live video using AForge from bitmaps?
