    I want to get a video from a m3u8 stream from range : 21:24 22:54.
    I found a answer at https://superuser.com/questions/758943/ffmpeg-cut-for-time-range , and it said I can use -ss 00:21:24.00 -t 90 to cut it.

    But I found that ffmpeg is actually download the whole video until 00:21:24.00 rather that just download 21:24 22:54 .
    How can I let it just download the 90 seconds I want ?

    The command I came up :

    ffmpeg -i "M3U8URL" -acodec copy -vcodec copy -ss 00:21:24.00 -t 90 output.mp4

    I’m looking for the simplest way to download m3u8 video and convert to mp4 without FFmpeg because it’s very huge it expands my apk size, anybody please tells me a good solution for this problems, any libraries better than ffmpeg ? or any other solution that can apply in server-side like that ?

  • Is FFMPEG download the file before processing ?

    I am working on FFMPEG, I read that http://dranger.com/ffmpeg/ article which I understand that FFMPEG doesn’t download the file before processing, FFMPEG play the file through ffmplayer or any other player, I want to exactly make sure about FFMPEG, that how it works ?

    1) It can download the file first and then make instance

    OR

    2) The file play and during play through FFMPEG Player make instance or conversion

    Which point is correct ?

    If someone knows that, it will be very helpful for others and also me .. :) Thanks in Advance
