• Manipulating image output from shell in python without storing external file

  I am trying to store an image that is the result of ffmpeg.

  Using this command, I have frame.png as an external file output :

  ffmpeg -flags2 +export_mvs -i video.avi -vf 'select=gte(n\,200),codecview=mv=pf+bf+bb' -vframes 1 frame.png

  I want to be able to load the frame.png directly into python, maybe using openCV but without saving it in the computer.

  I thought of something like this :

  cmd = "ffmpeg -flags2 +export_mvs -i video.avi -vf 'select=gte(n\,200),codecview=mv=pf+bf+bb' -vframes 1 frame.png"    
  
  
  
  img = cv.imread(sp.Popen(cmd, shell=True, stdout = sp.PIPE, stderr = sp.PIPE).communicate()[0])

  But I get an error :

  TypeError : bad argument type for built-in operation

  Any clue how to do this ? The idea is, no frame.png should be generated as a file.

  I have ffmpeg doing a video conversion in a PHP file and it works as it should. The problem is it takes up to a minute for this to finish. I thought it might be easy to do but I can only get it to work in the background when I use just one command (eg single pass conversion without mp4box) like this

  exec("nohup " . $ffmpegPath . " -i " . $srcFile . " -f mp4 -vcodec libx264 -crf 27 -s " . $srcWidth . "x" . $srcHeight . " -an -r 20 " . $destFile . ".mp4 > /dev/null 2>&1 &");

  The problem is I need to use three different commands to do a proper conversion though. So far my commands look like this in the PHP file and it works, but with a massive delay :

  exec($ffmpegPath . " -y -i " . $srcFile . " -f mp4 -pass 1 -passlogfile " . $video_pass_log . " -vcodec libx264 -vpre ipod640 -b:v 2M -bt 4M -an " . $destFile . ".mp4");
  
  exec($ffmpegPath . " -y -i " . $srcFile . " -f mp4 -pass 2 -passlogfile " . $video_pass_log . " -vcodec libx264 -vpre ipod640 -b:v 2M -bt 4M -acodec libfaac -ac 2 -ar 44100 -ab 96k " . $destFile . ".mp4");
  
  exec($mp4boxpath . " -tmp /tmp -hint " . $destFile . ".mp4");

  How can I make the shell exec run in background while PHP continues ?

  I am using a batch shell script on windows server to watermark videos

  


  for %%a in ("X:\input older\*.mp4") do ffmpeg -i "%%a" -vf "movie=watermark.png [watermark]; [in][watermark] overlay=main_w-overlay_w-10:10 [out]" "X:\output folder\%%~na.mp4"

  It converts all videos from input folder to output folder. I want to...

  


  

  1. Change watermark location after every 10 seconds in video for all videos.

  


  2. Water mark size is perfect when video resolution is 19201080 but its different for low resolution video for example : 1280720 its large, and for 640*360 extra large. So I want to keep the water mark size fixed.
