  • FFmpeg not encoding with libx264 library

    29 octobre 2011, par bOkeifus

Hey people of StackOverflow. I have been having a strange issue that I'm not exactly sure what's going on. I am using FFmpeg to convert any incoming video files to h264 mp4 files using the libx264. This is the log that I get from running this line of code :

    ffmpeg -y -i vdoname.flv -acodec libfaac -vcodec libx264 -sameq vid.mp4

This is the log output after running the line :

FFmpeg version SVN-r13428, Copyright (c) 2000-2008 Fabrice Bellard, et al.

Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 1000.00 (1000/1) -> 49.92 (599/12)
    Input #0, flv, from '/html/video/937.flv':
     Duration: 00:00:10.08, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 48 kb/s

       Stream #0.1: Audio: mp3, 22050 Hz, stereo, 48 kb/s
    Output #0, h264, to '/html/flvideo/new_937.mp4':
       Stream #0.0: Video: libx264, yuv420p, 720x480, q=2-31, 200 kb/s, 49.92 tb(c)
       Stream #0.1: Audio: libfaac, 22050 Hz, stereo, 64 kb/s

    Press [q] to stop encoding

Can someone please help me out and tell me what to do to get this to work ? I guessed that the libx264 external library is not installed but it doesn't exactly say that in the log file and it looks as if it does find it but then doesn't actually encode the video.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

  • ffmpeg rotate and resize

    23 août 2014, par user1321964

I’m trying to resize a movie and to rotate it counter-clockwise using ffmpeg.
I can achieve one or the other ok individually

    ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -vf "transpose=2" -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 rotate.MOV

    OR

    ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -s 720x406 -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 resize.MOV

but if I try to do both, either-

    ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -s 720x406 -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 resize.MOV

    ffmpeg -i resize.MOV -vf "transpose=2" toutp.MOV

    OR

    ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -vf "transpose=2" -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 rotate.MOV

    ffmpeg -i rotate.MOV -s 406x720 toutp.MOV

the final movie does not play, only audio, no video ; neither previewing in Finder, nor in Quicktime. More seriously once I have attempted to play it, I can’t then play any other movie whatsoever (only audio) - quicktime won’t quit, constantly need to force-quit it. The only way to then restore seems to be reboot OS-X

    This though does work -

    ffmpeg -i MVI_8189.MOV -vf "transpose=2" -ss 00:00:12 -t 00:00:05 rotate.MOV

    ffmpeg -i rotate.MOV -s 720x406 toutp.MOV

but doesn’t do what I want - it stretches the movie in the wrong direction

    Any ideas ?

  • How can I write to file with video state while paused in ffplay

    26 août 2014, par pixelearth

Can anyone recommend a way to do what I need : I need to go through 2000+ videos and choose an accurate thumbnail frame down to the .xx decimal place.
Ffplay works great for this, but it’s tedious to manually copy paste this value from the terminal into my database. It would be great if I could hit a key sequence or somehow trigger an event that would write information about ffplay’s current state (filename, location) to a file.

Is there a way once the video is paused to somehow write to a file with the filename and location ?
