23 juin 2023, par Daniel LipI want to record with ffmpeg later the entire desktop including audio.
I want to make that it will find for me automatic the recording audio device.

I'm using MMDeviceEnumerator.

all the other ways I tried returned empty list returned 0 audio devices. I tried with naudio and ffmpeg

public Form1()
 {
 InitializeComponent();

 InitializeRecordingIndicator();

 MMDeviceEnumerator enumerator = new MMDeviceEnumerator();
 foreach (MMDevice device in enumerator.EnumerateAudioEndPoints(DataFlow.Capture, DeviceState.All))
 {
 StreamWriter w = new StreamWriter(@"d:\audiodev.txt", true);
 cmbAudioDevices.Items.Add(device.FriendlyName);
 w.WriteLine(device.FriendlyName + " " + device.State);
 w.Close();
 }
 }

This is the list of all my audio deviceso n my system.
but they are all not present or disabled. and i have audio on my pc i can hear games videos anything.

so what would i select from this list as audio device for recording the pc output audio ?
or maybe i need to find another way to find the right audio device ?

this is how i tried with naudio but it didn't working it didn't find anything. :

using NAudio.Wave;
...

// Enumerate and list audio input devices
var devices = WaveInEvent.DeviceCount;
for (int deviceId = 0; deviceId < devices; deviceId++)
{
 var deviceInfo = WaveInEvent.GetCapabilities(deviceId);
 Console.WriteLine($"Device ID: {deviceId}, Name: {deviceInfo.ProductName}");
}

before that i tried with ffmpeg but also it didn't return anything :

public static class FFmpegHelper
 {
 public static string[] GetAudioCaptureDevices()
 {
 string ffmpegPath = @"C:\path\to\ffmpeg.exe";
 Process process = new Process();
 process.StartInfo.FileName = ffmpegPath;
 process.StartInfo.Arguments = "-list_devices true -f dshow -i dummy";
 process.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false;
 process.StartInfo.RedirectStandardError = true;
 process.StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = true;
 process.Start();
 process.WaitForExit();

 string output = process.StandardError.ReadToEnd();
 string[] lines = output.Split('\n');
 var devices = lines.Where(line => line.Contains("audio")).Select(line => line.Trim()).ToArray();
 return devices;
 }
 }

using it :

var audioDevices = FFmpegHelper.GetAudioCaptureDevices();

xdotool to tab to a button on a web page and use the mouse to disable a drop down menu option
25 juin 2023, par MashI have a Bash script that open a Amazon chime meeting URL in firefox, uses XDOtool to enter a meetig participant name, and tab and mouse click functions. and next uses ffmpeg to stream the video and audio output of the Amazon chime meeting to an RTMP destination.

When this is streamed, the Amazon chime web app has "More" drop down Menu. Within the Menu it has a option to disable the self view. I want to add xdotool commands to disable this self view option from the more drop down menu on the amazon chime web app page.

the Amazon chime meeting URL is - https://app.chime.aws/meetings/

Ffmpeg : How to fix error "Please choose an encoder manually" ?
9 juillet 2023, par AlexI am trying to convert a x265 videofile to a x264 format so it can be played on a television. I am trying the following command

ffmpeg -i input.mkv -f mp4 -vcodec libx264 -preset fast -profile:v main -acodec aac -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map 0:2 test.mp4

to select videos stream 0:0 for video, stream 0:1 for audio and stream 0:2 for the subtitle. However I get an error

Automatic encoder selection failed Default encoder for format mp4 (codec none) is probably disabled. Please choose an encoder manually.
Error selecting an encoder

How to fix this command ?

P.S. I am not an expert in
ffmpeg
or videos conversion/formats/encodings/audio formats/subtitle formats.

I found EXACTLY ONE google search result with the exact error phrase HERE. And that is not helping as I do not even understand the first sentence.

Below is the output for the first three streams :

I found a related question HERE whose answer I do not fully understand. However, I tried the following command

ffmpeg -i input.mkv -f mp4 -vcodec libx264 -preset fast -profile:v main -acodec aac -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map 0:2 -c:s mov_text test.mp4

but got a new error

Error initializing output stream: Error while opening encoder for output stream #0:0 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height

I thought I am defining an "encoder" for output stream "#0:0" (which I think is video), namely libx264. So what else to do here ?

I tried
-acode copy
and also to use-qp 0
in the command line which all did not work.
