ffmpeg build from source fails in docker container ?
24 mars 2016, par John AllardI’m trying to make some changes to the ffmpeg source code (yes, I’m a masochist), and to start I booted an Arch Linux docker container, installed the requirements, downloaded ffmpeg source code, and tried to compile, but I’m getting some extremely odd errors.
compile command :
./configure --bindidr=~/ffmpeg_build --enable-gpl --enable-libass --enable-libfdk-aac --enable-libfreetype --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libopus --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-libx264 --enable-nonfree
Output :

./configure:53378: parse error near '}'
==> ERROR" A failure occured in build()
Aborting...
The build failed. This doesn’t seem to be a problem with ffmpeg, more a problem with the container. If I check
find /tmp -name ffconf\*
I see that the files do exist and they containextern int getrusage();
int main(void){ getrusage(); }what in the hell is going on ? hash tabled ? mktemp not working ? files not being found ?
edit-
here is what is on the line numbers in the files that give the errors
3338:configure - unset -f mktemp
5338:configure - check_builtin gmtime_r time.g "time_t * time; strict tm*; gmtime_r(time, tm)"edit2 - Here’s the dockerfile (cloned from here https://hub.docker.com/r/greyltc/archlinux/ /dockerfile/)

Invalid NAL unit size for MP4 created from NALU with 3-byte start code (0x000001)
9 septembre 2020, par rscI have a mp4 muxer that works fine when the H264 NALU has the 4-byte start code (0x00000001). I am adapting it to support 3-byte start code (0x000001) but I am stuck with a bug that I am not able to identify. The MP4 generated open in VLC and MediaPlayer but no video is displayed. In VLC statistics shows that it is decoding blocks but stays with 0 frames displayed.

I then ran a error analyzer using ffmpeg (ffmpeg -v error -i myvideo.mp4 -f null - 2>error.log that shows me the following output :

I am trying to find why it is complaining about 1 byte difference in all mdat boxes. Also, the smaller values (e.g : 158558) are 12 bytes lower than the size written inside the mdat header.

Anyone could help indicate why that error is happening ? The same code is working fine to create MP4 with 4-byte NALU start code.

UPDATE : I ran ffprobe and it provides a few more details, more specifically saying that couldn't find the "codec parameters" :

Create a gif of given duration from a set of images with ffmpeg
7 septembre 2020, par LukeTheWalkerAt the moment I have a variable number of frame numerically ordered from
gif-00000.png
to the last frame namedgif-xxxxx.png
.

I'd like to create a gif using ffmpeg of exactly 25 seconds, which means changing according to the numbers of frames, the framerate of the gif.

Since I do not know the exact number of frames, is there an option to force the framerate to fit into a given duration ?
