• ffmpeg runs in terminal but returns error in subprocess.run

  I want to run this command in python :

  As suggested here (FFMPEG command runs in terminal but not by subprocess) i tried using which determine path to correct version, but this command returns /usr/bin/ffmpeg both in python and in terminal.

• Google Speech - Streaming Request Returns EOF Error

  Using Go, I’m taking a RTMP stream, transcoding it to FLAC (using ffmpeg) and attempting to stream to Google’s Speech API to transcribe the audio. However, I keep getting EOF errors when sending the data. I can’t find any information on this error in the docs so I’m not exactly sure what’s causing it.

  I’m chunking the received data into 3s clips (length isn’t relevant as long as it’s less than the maximum length of a streaming recognition request).

  Notice that not all of the Sends fail.

  Could anyone point me in the right direction here ? Is it something to do with the FLAC headers or something ? I also wonder if maybe resetting the buffer causes some of the data to be dropped (i.e. it’s a non-trivial operation that actually takes some time to complete) and it doesn’t like this missing information ?

  Any help would be really appreciated.

• Java : Kill a process started by exec() after some duration

  Let me start off by saying that I'm completely new to Java. I'm from PHP background, but it so happens that one of my PHP tasks need to be converted into Java.

  The task is splitting a video into frames using ffmpeg and then working with those frames. I've completed this process in PHP. And now I can to convert it into Java.

  I went over some tutorials and have got the bases covered (Using IDE, Running a java program etc). I'm using Eclipse for this purpose.

  I've so far managed to start ffmpeg from withing a java program by using

  This is working fine, I'm getting the frames in the folder. Now what I want to do is kill the process after some, say 5 minutes, as the video is over 2 hours long and I don't want to have to go to the taskbar and kill the process manually.

  I tried using p.destroy() but that didn't stop the process at all. How would I go about using something similar like setTimeout() which is used in jQuery ?
