  • How do I use ffmpeg with live streaming from an IP camera [closed]

28 février 2013, par Murali Hariharan

My question is very basic because I am a newbie to all these
    technologies.

I have an IP camera connected to my internal network.

    http://192.168.1.20/videostream.cgi?user=admin&pwd=

...gives a live streaming view in Firefox or Internet Explorer.

Now I want to record the live stream into a video.

The parameters to be supplied are begin_time, end_time, format of video etc.

How do I accomplish this ?

    I appreciate any guidance.

  • How to trigger from button in UVC camera

8 août 2016, par Buddhishan Manamperi

I’m taking pictures from a webcam using Intel Edison. I was able to capture still images from the camera after installing uvc driver for linux and ffmpeg software. I use a script to capture.

    ./ffmpeg -s 640x640 -f video4linux2 -i /dev/video0 -vframes 1 image.jpeg;

I want to capture the image from the button (in the web cam) press event. I used a USB analyzer in windows to analyze packets. It was found that URB_FUNCTION_BULK_OR_INTERRUPT_TRANSFER is transferring UP and DOWN when the button is pressed.

Please Help me to implement button press triggering on Linux so that I could use it on Edison.

  • Web camera Logitech and Linux

8 novembre 2019, par Nick Saw

I have Logitech C310 camera with the declared characteristics of 720p 30fps.

If you connect the camera to windows, the recording is fully consistent with the stated 720p 30fps - the picture is clear.

The challenge is to connect the same camera to OrangePI (server Armbian) and to save video files on it.

    The camera appears as /dev/video0.

    sudo ffmpeg -f v4l2 -s 1280x720 -i /dev/video0 output.wmv

As a result, I get a crumbly picture with a frequency of 5 fps.

Maybe I’m using ffmpeg incorrectly ? Please help me who has experience with Web cameras on Linux ...
    Thanks in advance.
