    Afin de palier aux difficultés d’installation dues principalement aux dépendances logicielles coté serveur, un script d’installation "tout en un" en bash a été créé afin de faciliter cette étape sur un serveur doté d’une distribution Linux compatible.
    Vous devez bénéficier d’un accès SSH à votre serveur et d’un compte "root" afin de l’utiliser, ce qui permettra d’installer les dépendances. Contactez votre hébergeur si vous ne disposez pas de cela.

  • Les notifications de la ferme

    Afin d’assurer une gestion correcte de la ferme, il est nécessaire de notifier plusieurs choses lors d’actions spécifiques à la fois à l’utilisateur mais également à l’ensemble des administrateurs de la ferme.
    Les notifications de changement de statut
    Lors d’un changement de statut d’une instance, l’ensemble des administrateurs de la ferme doivent être notifiés de cette modification ainsi que l’utilisateur administrateur de l’instance.

    Ils ne le savent pas forcément mais sont indispensables
    MediaSPIP est un logiciel open-source, il se base sur d’autres logiciels, et d’autres logiciels lui sont également nécessaires pour fonctionner ... Les personnes ici listées ne savent pas forcément qu’elles ont un rôle important dans le développement, elles ont apporté leur connaissances dans le cadre de la création d’une partie de ces éléments nécessaires ou ont écrit des articles permettant de comprendre certaines choses... il semble indispensable (...)

  • ffmpeg mp4 x264 encoding -> playback causes "pending" in both Chrome and IE causing 10+ seconds delay

    After encoding a video to mp4(x264 with aac) ; I have the following weird behaviour in both crome and IE :

    Im serving the content from https with spdy enables.

    It takes up to 30 seconds before the video is actually played, in the mean time i cannot reload the page it shows up as "pending". (even after i have visual on the video sometimes it takes 10-20 seconds before i can actually reload the page, or navigate to another url on the same domain)

    After looking at the "network" tab in developer tools, i see the following requests for 1 page/video :

    I tried to isolate the problem, When i use an mp4 video from the internet (for example the demo video of jplayer) and load it from my server, it loads rapidly, without delays.

    So it makes me think the problem lies within the encoding. I tried various things.
    FFmpeg :

    • csr 69 (low quality)

    • various options

    HTML :

    • preload="none"

    • javascript loading/playing of the movie

    • type=’mp4/video’

    • no posterimage

    But i cannot resolve the problem. Does anyone have a clue what is causing this ?

    I have a download speed of 300kb/s and the movie is 6MB.

    After the video starts, the video isn’t fully buffered, so i wonder : What is the html5 videoplayer doing all this time ?

    The problem also blocks the connections. When i press "F5" in both chrome and IE the page beeing reloaded comes up in the network tab as "pending" and it can take 10 to 20 seconds before the page actually reloads.

  • How to deal with "Buffer queue overflow, dropping." (ffmpeg)

    Sometimes it works great and sometimes I’m getting this message

    by running this command
    ffmpeg -i a1.mp4 -i watermark150x125.png -filter_complex 'overlay=10:10' output.mp4

    I tried different variation of "overlay" like overlay=W-w-5:H-h-5, overlay=10:main_h-overlay_h-10, overlay=main_w-overlay_w-10:main_h-overlay_h-10 - getting the same result.

  • ffmpeg "Option preset not found."

    I am trying to convert a .mpg to .flv with ffmpeg. On other servers I got it working but here with the ffmpeg clone (avconv) it just does not do it.

    Originally I was working with libfaac and preset fastfirstpass but thats not available in this build so I switched to the experimental acc and preset libx264-fast_firstpass :

Option preset not found.

    What does the error in the last line mean ?

    I already made sure the preset libx264-fast_firstpass.avpreset exists in /usr/share/avconv/ and if I change it to invalid ffmpeg complains with Preset invalid specified for stream 0:0, but could not be opened., so the preset is correct.

    Google does provide two results for this error. This chatlog and it’s pastebin about live streaming with the solution to add -f flv and some russian page. Nothing helped.

    Any advice ?
