• How to debug missing shared library (libffmpeg.so) while running Electron App (LBRY-Desktop) on FreeBSD Linuxulator ?

  I'm working on running an Electron Linux App on FreeBSD, namly
lbry-desktop.

  


  I did this

  


  


  1. download https://github.com/mrclksr/linux-browser-installer

     


  


  2. run from FreeBSD

     


     sudo ./linux-browser-installer chroot create
sudo chroot /compat/ubuntu/ /bin/bash


     


  


  3. run from chroot/ubuntu

     


     apt install --yes wget
cd /root
wget https://github.com/lbryio/lbry-desktop/releases/download/v0.51.2/LBRY_0.51.2.deb
apt install --yes ./LBRY_0.51.2.deb
rm /var/lib/dpkg/info/libfprint-2-2\:amd64.postinst
apt install --yes ./LBRY_0.51.2.deb


     


  


  4. back to FreeBSD

     


     > /compat/ubuntu/opt/LBRY/lbry


     


  


  


  I'm getting this

  


  /compat/ubuntu/opt/LBRY/lbry: error while loading shared libraries: libffmpeg.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
fish: Job 1, '/compat/ubuntu/opt/LBRY/lbry' terminated by signal SIGTRAP (Trace or breakpoint trap)


  


  I did some debugging, but can't get it thru.

  


  My conclusion is, it should work, since

  


  

  1. ffmpeg.so is present


     > ll /compat/ubuntu/opt/LBRY/

  Also, from chroot

        libffmpeg.so => /opt/LBRY/libffmpeg.so (0x0000000808e00000)


  


  So I'm missing something, but can't find it.

  


  How can I debug/solve it ?

  


  Running the program from /compat/ubuntu/opt/LBRY/ dir, doesn't work as well.

  


• how do I fix the permission problem so ffmpeg can write when run from a cgi-script ?

  I have a shell script in Linux that runs ffmpeg for the purpose of converting video to a series snapshots in response to a command from apache2. The shell script is run from a perl script in /var/www/cgi-bin that is called by apache2. The conversion works fine when I run the shell script from the command line when I login as root. The problem is that ffmpeg cannot write its output when it's run from the cgi-script. With the exception of ffmpeg writing files, the shell script runs from the cgi-script just fine because I enabled it in /etc/sudoers and I run it with sudo. I have read several posts on the use of ffmpeg and setting permissions, and have tried the following without success :

  


  


  1. The full path to the snapshot files being written is given in the ffmpeg command

     


  


  2. I tried placing the shell script that runs ffmpeg into a root folder instead of the same folder, /var/www/cgi-bin, as the perl cgi script

     


  


  3. I gave the folder, /var/www/html/userName/video, where ffmpeg is to write its snapshots, www-data:root ownership instead of the original root:root, and I tried changing its write permission from 755 to 777.

     


  


  4. ffmpeg is installed in the default location, /use/bin

     


  


  


  How do I fix this ?

  the ffmpeg is installed on whm root server, (my cpanel account have full access to root)

  so how can I connect ffmpeg package with my laravel project in
