  • Extract first non black keyframe with FFMPEG

4 septembre 2013, par Simone Margaritelli

I'm trying to extract a thumbnail image from a video keyframes using ffmpeg, my command line is :

    ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -vframes 1 -s 200x200 -vf select="eq(pict_type\,PICT_TYPE_I)" -vsync 0 -f image2 video.jpg

But the keyframe it extracts is totally black (the video starts with a black frame i guess) ... is there a way to automatically extract the first non black keyframe from a video, without seeking to a specific time (i have to manage multiple videos of many durations) ?

    Thanks

  • Create video with ffmpeg from youtube URL ?

    24 septembre 2014, par agustinalesso

I’m creating a video player for an e-learning platform with javascript. We let our users to upload videos or images & audio from files or youtube videos via URL. When it’s not a Youtube URL, we convert the files in our servers using FFMPEG so our player only handles the same type of files, but I’m having some issues to control the Youtube video from our own controls. What I want to know : Is there a way to take the youtube URL and create a video file using FMMPEG or some other similar way ? The Idea is NOT to control youtube videos using the youtube API, but using instead our own controls.

  • How can I apply complex filters more than once with different parameters while avoiding "too many inputs" errors

15 mai 2019, par Hugh Walxet

I’m trying to apply the displace complex filter more than once in a video, at specific intervals with no proportional relationship. In each instance, I want to apply the displace filter with slightly different parameters. If I list it twice in the commands for the complex_filter, I get an error saying I have too many inputs.

I might as well ask, separately, how I could apply the same filter with the same parameters more than once in a video, without re-iterating the same filter more than once in the command line. Put differently, how do I run a filter as specific times without writing the command several times sequentially, each with a different trigger time ?
