  • Ubuntu ffmepg watermark position

8 juillet 2015, par Arnas Pečelis

    so I have command :

    ffmpeg -i prepared/video.mp4 -i units/video_watermark.png -filter_complex overlay=main_w-overlay_w-10:main_h-overlay_h-10 -codec:a copy moved/video_test.mp4

which should describe watermark position on bottom right but the watermark appears on the bottom center. what i’m doing wrong ?

also I tried this command :

    ffmpeg -i prepared/video.mp4 -vf "movie=units/video_watermark.png [watermark]; [in][watermark] overlay=main_w-overlay_w-10:main_h-overlay_h-10 [out]" moved/output.mp4

but with it watermark was not added, video was corrupted becouse of response :

[aac @ 0x3556540] The encoder ’aac’ is experimental but experimental codecs are not enabled, add ’-strict -2’ if you want to use it.

    where is the clue ?

  • ffplay cannot position multiple players at different locations on the screen

    15 avril 2020, par smartblonde

We would like to use ffplay for monitoring live streamed video, instead of VLC. We are hitting some limitations. DO we know work arounds ? The first issue is that we cannot position ffplay's windows at different locations on the screen via command line params. We've tried options on the command line of -x,-y,-top,-left,-w and -h, -width and -height. It appears that only -x and -y are recognized by ffplay as valid Options, regardless of the corresponding values assigned to each option. Also, -x seems to be the "width" of the player, and -y the "height" as opposed to the x and y location of a corner of the player on the screen. The other options seem to return unrecognized option. Is there a standard set of options available on all builds / OS download releases that will work to allow us to place the players around the screen ? Thank you !
