Creating farms of unique websites
13 avril 2011, parMediaSPIP platforms can be installed as a farm, with a single "core" hosted on a dedicated server and used by multiple websites.
This allows (among other things) : implementation costs to be shared between several different projects / individuals rapid deployment of multiple unique sites creation of groups of like-minded sites, making it possible to browse media in a more controlled and selective environment than the major "open" (...) -
Other interesting software
13 avril 2011, parWe don’t claim to be the only ones doing what we do ... and especially not to assert claims to be the best either ... What we do, we just try to do it well and getting better ...
The following list represents softwares that tend to be more or less as MediaSPIP or that MediaSPIP tries more or less to do the same, whatever ...
We don’t know them, we didn’t try them, but you can take a peek.

Video transcode and codec issue
8 août 2020, par maddogandnorikoI'm converting some old videos to play on my Roku via a dlna server. I'm trying to understand the MP4 container better to optimize conversions. I have an ogm video :

Duration: 01:00:38.22, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 1056 kb/s
Stream #0:0: Video: mpeg4 (XVID / 0x44495658), yuv420p, 576x324 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 23.98 fps, 23.98 tbr, 23.98 tbn, 23.98 tbc
Stream #0:1(English): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 74 kb/s
Stream #0:2(Japanese): Audio: aac, 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 73 kb/s
Stream #0:3(English): Subtitle: text

From what I understand, MP4 container can contain MP4 video and aac audio. I used

-c:a copy -c:v copy

And it worked, but the video won't play. Obviously something's wrong. What I don't understand is why, the video looks like it's MP4 and the audio is aac. My guess is it's the Xvid but why ?

Thank you.

Splicing two gifs together every other frame using ffmpeg
30 juillet 2021, par AlexwallI have two gifs I want to be combined together in an odd fashion.

If I have gif1.gif and gif2.gif i want one frame of gif2.gif inserted every other frame of gif1.gif, in a sort of zipper like way if that makes sense.

Is this feasible ? Is ffmpeg maybe not the right software to use for this ?

how can I get the total number of frames using ffmpegkit on Android (Kotlin) ?
1er mars 2023, par user44551I'm developing an Android app to encode a video using

com.arthenica.ffmpegkit.FFmpegKit

I would like to show users some information on the progress.
I managed to show how many frames are processed in real time. I would like to get the total number of frames in the original stream, so I can show a percentage.

How can I get the total number of frames in a video before I start encoding it ?
