  • ffmpeg rtmp webcam live stream iphone/pad segment size too big

    I'm transcoding a rtmp stream from a red5 server for use to live stream on a iphone or ipad device. I built latest ffmpeg version from git repo using the built in segmenter to create .ts files and m3u8 playlist file using the following :

    ffmpeg -probesize 50k -i "rtmp://localhost/oflaDemo/red5StreamDemo live=1" \
    
-c:v libx264 -b:v 128k -vpre ipod320 -flags -global_header -map 0 \
    
-f segment -segment_time 3 -segment_list foo.m3u8 -segment_list_flags +live \
    
-segment_list_type m3u8 -segment_list_size 5 -segment_format mpegts foo%d.ts

    This works fine, but I can't get the segment size smaller than about 12 sec even set to 3 (-segment_time 3). It seems to be caused by libx264 vcodec.
    Am I missing any flag ?

    By the way, you can simple run the ffmpeg command above successfully by starting red5 SimpleBroadcaster example.

  • If you rotate the iPhone's video with ffmpeg, the rotation information sticks. Can I hide this ?

    The following implementation is a command to rotate the movie by 90 degrees.

    ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -vf transpose=1 -metadata:s:v:0 rotate=0 videoo.mp4
    
-vf transpose=1

    The iPhone’s video contains rotation information and actually

    ffprobe -show_streams -print_format json videoo.mp4 2>/dev/null

    To output motion picture information or rotation information as described below.

    Is it possible to hide this ? Or is it possible to erase only this rotation information ?

  • ffmpeg mp3 to mp4 with image compatible with iphone [duplicate]

    This question already has an answer here :

    I need to convert an mp3 to mp4 with image using ffmpeg from my OSX command line.

    I already installed last version of ffmpeg (3.0.2), and tried the following command as described here

    ./ffmpeg -loop 1 -i test.jpg -i test.mp3 -c:a copy -c:v libx264 -shortest test.mp4

    but the result mp4 file is not compatible with my iphone 5

    Now this is what I am trying

    ./ffmpeg -loop 1 -i test.png -i test.mp3 -profile:v baseline -level 3.0 test.mp4

    but I get the error

    Error while opening encoder for output stream #0:0 - maybe incorrect
    parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height
