  • Encoding and processing into web-friendly formats

    MediaSPIP automatically converts uploaded files to internet-compatible formats.
    Video files are encoded in MP4, Ogv and WebM (supported by HTML5) and MP4 (supported by Flash).
    Audio files are encoded in MP3 and Ogg (supported by HTML5) and MP3 (supported by Flash).
    Where possible, text is analyzed in order to retrieve the data needed for search engine detection, and then exported as a series of image files.

  • Optimizing Painting video encoding in Android

    I want to create live painting video as export feature for a painting application.

    I can create a video with a series of images, with the use of a library ( FFMPEG or MediaCodec). But, this would require too much processing power to compare the images and encode the video.

    While drawing, I know exactly which pixels are changed. So, I can save lot of processing if I can pass this info to FFMPEG, instead of having the FFMPEG figure this out from the images.

    Is there away to efficiently encode the video for this purpose ?

    A client is interested in applying a Sepia style filter, as well as title cards, to user-uploaded videos on their website. This would obviously be automated on their webserver, and it seems ffmpeg is a good way to make this happen.

    Unfortunately, from what I've read, such processing would require a lot of webserver CPU power — far more than the average webserver usually has. How can I practically perform these calculations on a website ?

  • How to paint in Qt using hardware acceleration ?

    I need to do some quite intensive drawing processes in my appliation - I'm recording a camera and a desktop. I'm using ffmpeg to capture and encode/decode my videos. Those processes are quite fast and they working in a separate thread, but when it comes to render - perfomance drops drastically. I'm using QLabel to display captured frames via setPixmap() method and I see that Qt not using any GPU power even if a matrix operation, such as scaling an image to fit the window is clearly implied. Is there any way to paint images in Qt using hardware acceleration ? Or is there another ways to speed up painting process ?
