HTML5 audio and video support
13 avril 2011, parMediaSPIP uses HTML5 video and audio tags to play multimedia files, taking advantage of the latest W3C innovations supported by modern browsers.
The MediaSPIP player used has been created specifically for MediaSPIP and can be easily adapted to fit in with a specific theme.
For older browsers the Flowplayer flash fallback is used.

10 avril 2011MediaSPIP utilise les balises HTML5 video et audio pour la lecture de documents multimedia en profitant des dernières innovations du W3C supportées par les navigateurs modernes.
Pour les navigateurs plus anciens, le lecteur flash Flowplayer est utilisé.
Le lecteur HTML5 utilisé a été spécifiquement créé pour MediaSPIP : il est complètement modifiable graphiquement pour correspondre à un thème choisi.
Ces technologies permettent de distribuer vidéo et son à la fois sur des ordinateurs conventionnels (...)

But it results in a corrupted file. This is the output.

When ever I need to use a command that requires single quotes around the arguments i.e.
'[0:0] [0:1] [1:0] [1:1] [2:0] [2:1] concat=n=3:v=1:a=1 [v] [a]'
the above function wouldn’t work. So I made another function for those case which deals with the command as a string. Here is is.def ffmpegStr(args):

I use ffmpegcmd as a variable so that I can change the ffmpeg version if needed in both functions with 1 change.
The args is just the list of arguments specific to what I want ffmpeg to do.
I also like to have the option of changing the loglevel in both functions with 1 line and so use a variable for this.

convert MOV to mp4 using transcode
3 janvier 2017, par koemI want to convert a MOV from my Casio cam to mp4 using transcode. Why transcode ? Because I also want to deshake the video in the same step.
When I use
ffmpeg -i in.MOV out.mp4
it works. When using
transcode -J stabilize -i in.MOV
or
transcode -J transform -i in.MOV -y ffmpeg -F mpeg4 -o out.mp4
I get hundreds of these errors :

[adpcm_ima_wav @ 0x1f7f180] Only 4-bit ADPCM IMA WAV files are supportedThis looks to me as if transcode uses ffmpeg internally.
I could use ffmpeg to make it mp4 first and then use transcode to stabilize the video, but then it would be re-encoded twice which I would like to avoid.

Why is one ffmpeg webm dash stream much larger than the others ?
5 janvier 2017, par ranvelOver the summer, I worked on putting together a script which took a x264 video/mp3 stream and broke it up into the different streams so that it would work via MSE-DASH. (Based heavily on the instructions on the webmproject.org website) Those same scripts have ceased to work, turning a 6GB video into several 25 Gb videos. I kept up with updates of ffmpeg and so I don’t know when it stopped working, but I am guessing it was due to the way that their DASH Webm implementation was updated.
I found new method which works better, but still has a major problem with one stream. I was hoping someone could explain how this encoding works so that I could understand the underlying cause.

The other problem is that when I use a shorter video, lets say eight or nine minutes, the above configuration runs as expected and everything is perfect. I don’t know where the limit for this is since each test costs a lot of processing power and time, but if it’s less than ten minutes, it works and if its longer than an hour, it produces massive files.
