    MediaSPIP uses HTML5 video and audio tags to play multimedia files, taking advantage of the latest W3C innovations supported by modern browsers.

    MediaSPIP utilise les balises HTML5 video et audio pour la lecture de documents multimedia en profitant des dernières innovations du W3C supportées par les navigateurs modernes.
    Pour les navigateurs plus anciens, le lecteur flash Flowplayer est utilisé.
    Le lecteur HTML5 utilisé a été spécifiquement créé pour MediaSPIP : il est complètement modifiable graphiquement pour correspondre à un thème choisi.

    1. Instead of relying on ff_packet_list_get to get the oldest element in
    
an AVPacketList, ff_read_packet used its own ad-hoc code. Said code
    
forgot to set the end of the list to NULL if the last element of the
    
list has been removed, thereby leaving the list in an inconsistent state.
    
2. Furthermore, if the list was not empty, the oldest element of the
    
list would always be copied into another packet structure before it was
    
known whether the oldest entry of the list would be removed. This makes
    
the ownership confusing and potentially copies unnecessarily.
    

    Both of these issues have been fixed. ff_packet_list_get is used now.

  • Fade out audio with ffmpeg without knowing video length

    I have the following command line I use with ffmpeg to add an audio track to a video that doesn’t have any audio track.

    ffmpeg -i final.mp4 -i soundtrack.mp3 -c:v copy -c:a aac -map 0:v:0 -map 1:a:0 -shortest with_audio.mp4

    I am looking for a way to fade out the volume nicely at 3s from the end of the video. The soundtrack will be always longer than the video, but the video can be any length. Existing command lines I found require to specify exact timing when to start/end fade effect. I am looking for a way that is agnostic to video length, I just want the sound to fade out to start 3s before video ends.

    Is there any way to do this with ffmpeg ?
