• Qt Video Recorder

  I am trying to create a video recorder with Qt. What I did so far was taking a screenshot of a rectangle on the screen and save it. At the end I use ffmpeg to get a video file out of the images.

  I connected a timer’s signal timeout() to my custom slot which takes the snapshot and saves it to my tmp folder. The timer has an intervall of 1000 / 30. That should be 30 times per second. But 1000 / 30 is a little bit more than 33 milliseconds so I cannot really get 30 fps. It’s a bit more.

  I recorded a youtube video with my recorder and everything was smooth but a little bit faster / slower depending on the intervall.

  So my question basically is how do I get really 30 / 40 / 50 / ... fps ?

• How to show Images from a video as preview for playlist

  You guys Have seen Youtube right. There while you are watching a video, You will also get related videos preview alongwith link. So how we can get it from video itself.. Is it possible to do so.. I am able to get the url from database and display it.. and when the link is clicked it will be played in a jquery player.. So before that a preview of that or you can say playlist of that will be available for user.

  I have updated my code with a link I found.. But still I am not able to get the Image from Video.. Is there anything wrong in my code.. Please correct me if I am wrong..

  Please note : I am not concentrating on you tube videos. I am questioning regarding the videos which I store in server side folder. So if there is any jquery technique or any sort of technique to do this then please let me know. :)

• bash : ffmpeg libx265 prevent output

  I’d like to use the new codec x265 (libx265) to encode my video collection.

  For this I created a lovely bash script under linux which works in general very well ! But something is strange :

  I prohibit the output of ffmpeg to echo on my own way. With x264 (the "old" one) everything works fine. But as soon as I use x265 I get always this kind of output on my terminal :

  This is the way I encode my video with ffmpeg :

  ffmpeg -i /input/file -c:v libx265 -c:a copy -loglevel quiet /output/file.mp4 <>/dev/null 2>&1

  I thought that the

  <>/dev/null 2>&1

  and the

  -loglevel quiet

  will do this but apparently I’m mistaken.

  How can I solve this problem ?
