  • Creating farms of unique websites

    13 avril 2011, par

MediaSPIP platforms can be installed as a farm, with a single "core" hosted on a dedicated server and used by multiple websites.
This allows (among other things) : implementation costs to be shared between several different projects / individuals rapid deployment of multiple unique sites creation of groups of like-minded sites, making it possible to browse media in a more controlled and selective environment than the major "open" (...)

  • Automated installation script of MediaSPIP

    25 avril 2011, par

To overcome the difficulties mainly due to the installation of server side software dependencies, an "all-in-one" installation script written in bash was created to facilitate this step on a server with a compatible Linux distribution.
You must have access to your server via SSH and a root account to use it, which will install the dependencies. Contact your provider if you do not have that.

  • ffmpeg command failed

25 octobre 2015, par Asad kamran

I am experimenting FFMPEG command to convert any video format to mp4.

Server admin execute the below command created by me and show me the errors :

    ffmpeg -ss 00:03:00  -i  /video/1444107854.mov -c:v libx264 /video/player/1444107854.mp4  -vframes 1 /video/thumb/1444107854.jpg

    This is error :

[aac @ 0x2b845a0] The encoder ’aac’ is experimental but experimental
codecs are not enabled, add ’-strict -2’ if you want to use it.

how can i avoid this error and also experimental codec, so can any one let me know what can be best codec if i explicitly specify it.

my ffmpeg and server are as follow :

ffmpeg version N-75903-g14573b9 Copyright (c) 2000-2015 the FFmpeg
developers built with gcc 4.4.7 (GCC) 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-16)

    EDIT 1 :
I change the command a bit and add -c:a copy to copy audio stream as it is but still no hope :

    New command :

    ffmpeg -ss 00:03:00  -i  /video/1444107854.mov -c:v libx264 -c:a copy /video/player/1444107854.mp4  -vframes 1 /video/thumb/1444107854.jpg

After executing this i got a file of 23k size, apparently as in log it only copy audio stream and no video is added in final output.
Its Log is as follow :

  • Quicktime cannot play recorded mp4 video file

    17 septembre 2014, par Dude

I have an mp4 related issue. I’m not very good in video processing related stuff. We have a problem with an image file that is recorded via HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) from a live stream. The HLS chunks are just put together and saved on the file system as .mp4 file. This file cannot be played with Apple QuickTime. VLC can play it. But it is a requirement that it can be played with QuickTime.

However, I found a solution that works. When I use the ffmpeg command -reset_timestamps, the video file can be played with QuickTime. I also see which parameter changes. It’s the start value.

Before use of the command :

    ffmpeg -i recorded_file.mp4

A lot of the text output changes but the line with the duration, start and bitrate is interesting, as the start value is set to near zero.

    Duration: 00:25:00.04, start: 0.021333, bitrate: 1358 kb/s

So to use this solution would be enough. The problem is, I cannot use ffmpeg in the solution that downloads the file (it’s for Android). So I try to find a way to do this in Java. However, as I have not much experience in Video processing, I can’t figure out, what this ffmpeg command does and therefore don’t know in which direction to look for a Java solution.

Is there a library that may do the same operation in Java or is there an easy way to do it myself in Java (like adjusting the file timestamp) ?

    Thanks for you help !

EDIT : The whole console output is now shown, instead of just a part of it.
