FFMPEG and Matplotlib for animations - strange outputs ?
27 juin 2020, par user13132640I'm trying to create animations using FFMPEG and matplotlib. Using the below code, I am creating the FFMpeg writer, and then using a loop, writing a series of graphs to the animation. However, the outputs I'm getting are very strange ; sometimes, when I watch the .mp4 file, the first 5 seconds are blank, then the video "ends" (the playback time on my media player says that it's complete), and at that point, my animation shows up. Other times, some frames are missing or skipped. I've tried searching around, but frankly I haven't found anyone with similar issues.

I just installed the latest version of FFMpeg today.

FFMpegWriter = manimation.writers['ffmpeg']
metadata = dict(title='Animation test', artist='name')
writer = FFMpegWriter(fps=1, metadata=metadata) # 1 frames per second, each year is 1 second

Then, the plotting part...(I've excluded the code where I setup the fig, ax etc.)

with writer.saving(fig, "animation.mp4", dpi=200):
 year = "2005"
 for i in range(4):

 d1_plot = d1[d1['Year'].str.contains(year, na=False)]
 ax.scatter(d1_plot["Lat"], d1_plot["Long"], c='g', s=d1_plot["Size"], transform=ccrs.PlateCarree())
 ax.set_title(year)
 writer.grab_frame()
 year = str(int(year)+1)

ffmpeg transparent background with colorkey shows background bleeding
2 novembre 2022, par JanI am creating a video with transparent background video with the following command. After creation I want to overlay this video on another video

ffmpeg -f lavfi -i color=red:s=1920x1080,colorkey=red,format=rgba -loop 1 -t 0.08 -i "CreditWhite.png" -filter_complex "[1:v]scale=1920:-2,setpts=if(eq(N\,0)\,0\,1+1/0.02/TB),fps=60[fg]; [0:v][fg]overlay=y=-'t*h*0.02':eof_action=endall[v]" -map "[v]" -pix_fmt yuva444p10le -vcodec prores_ks credits.mov

Creating the video works fine but when I overlay this on another video (using openshot) I get a lot of color bleeding of the background colour around the edges. Any suggestions to improve the ffmpeg prompt to stop this from happening ? I tried very slightly increasing the opacity (0.06) as mentioned in another thread without success.
Video uploaded to youtube for reference

UPDATE

Using different colours had the same effect

My FFMPEG throws me unexpected errors while writing a Thumbnail to the songs
4 mars 2019, par Harmonised7I am using Node to execute my ffmpeg. I use this wrapper :
https://www.npmjs.com/package/ffmpeg
Everything was fine when I was using smaller versions of the thumbnails provided by Youtube, but when I attempted the HD ones, it suddenly started giving me an error. I’ve tried -pix_fmt yuv422p and Many other pixel formats, but nothing helped. Though ONE out of 100+ songs did tag successfully.
here is my code :
downloadTags(tags.thumbnail, `./thumbnails/${tags.title}.jpg`).then(thumbnail =>
{
video.addCommand('-i', `"${thumbnail}"`);
video.addCommand('-map', '0');
video.addCommand('-map', '1');
video.addCommand('-c', 'copy');
video.addCommand('-c:v:1', 'png');
video.addCommand('-disposition:v:0', 'attached_pic');
if(tags.title)
video.addCommand('-metadata', `title="${tags.title}"`);
if(tags.artist)
video.addCommand('-metadata', `artist="${tags.artist}"`);
if(tags.id)
video.addCommand('-metadata', `comment="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=${tags.id}"`);
video.addCommand('-pix_fmt', `yuv422p`);
var output = 'downloaded'
if (outFolder)
{
output = outFolder;
if(!fs.existsSync(output)) fs.mkdirSync(output);
}
video.save(`"./${output}/${tags.title}.${tags.format}"`, function (error, file)
{
if (error)
{
resolve(error);
return
}
try
{
fs.unlinkSync(song);
}
catch(err)
{
console.log(err.code);
}
resolve();
});
});
}and here is my error :
