  • Creating a timelapse from a directory of jpgs

26 juillet 2020, par Casey Davis

I'm using this code to create a timelapse from a directory of images. My directory has about 1600 jpgs in it that all start with the date in this format 2020-03-01-time.jpg, 2020-03-02-time-name.jpg, etc. Sorting alphabetically works just fine. It runs, but it seems to only get through a few hundred photos and makes a 3 second long mp4. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'm not opposed to moving to python or anything else. Eventually I'll need to pass some parameters in here and I'll attempt to automate it and ftp the output to a webserver.

    Here is the command :

    ffmpeg -r 24 -pattern_type glob -i '*.jpg' -s hd1080 -vcodec libx264 timelapse.mp4

    Here is the output :

  • Unable to use concat in stripped down version of ffmpeg

29 juillet 2020, par Amit Bhandari

I have compiled ffmpeg for my android app to have only essential components. I have enabled following components.

    --disable-everything \
--enable-demuxer=concat \
--enable-muxer=concat,mp4 \
--enable-protocol=file,subfile \
--enable-filter=amix,adelay,volume \

But when I am trying to concatenate mp4 files using following command

    ffmpeg -y -f concat -safe 0 -i files.txt -c copy output.mp4

    I am receiving following error

    [concat @ 0x7bd7d14400] Impossible to open 'file1.mp4'
files.txt: Invalid data found when processing input

Here is complete ffmpeg output for reference

Exact same command works when I compile complete ffmpeg. What components I might be missing for getting this error ? Help is appreciated.
