• How Akamei is packaging HLS and DASH videos ?

  Latlert I've been trying to create my own simple streaming service which converts an mp4 video to HLS or DASH. For the sake of simplicity, let's focus on only HLS.

  


  Apple is the the one how created HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) which consists of a different resulotions playlist files, and each file consists of seperate sepemts (ts, mp4 or m4a) each segment is a time range of the original video.

  


  I've noticed the Akamei are using the same mp4 video and a query param range to range over the video segements.

  How Akamei is gementing the same video on the fly to stream HLS and DASH ?

  


  I searched and read the HLS Specifications with no luck.

  Claro, car pour l’instant on fait un peu "morte quoi" comme dirait quelqu’un, cf `forum_attention_dix_caracteres` VS `forum_attention_nb_caracteres_mini` ici https://git.spip.net/spip/forum/src/branch/master/lang/forum_fr.php#L42 ; donc une chaîne neutre (ou générique ^^) permettrait de faire du ménage.

  (au passage b_b si on créé une nouvelle chaine que trad.spip.net connait déjà, il recopie toutes les trads qu’il connait à l’import)

  I’m trying to use ffmpeg for edit some videos on android...
  It is working fine but if I try to use drawtext i get error

  the command is :

  things to considere :
  1. I’ve checked 3 times all the paths are valid
  2. I’ve tested the same command on ffmpeg 4.0 on windows and it works [with the same video]
  3. If I remove the drawtext filter it works fine...

  I tought it ffmpeg was built without drawtext or with some error so i spent 10 days in order to build it bymyself and guarantee every dependency is ok... but at end i got the same error

  does anyone have any idea please

  UPDATE

  I keep testing and if I remove the quotes from the filter and use a text without spacing it works

  ex :
  drawtext=text='test_message':fontfile=/path/arial.ttf:box=1:boxborderw=30:boxcolor=0xE86F67@0.7:fix_bounds=true:fontcolor=0x2A363B:fontsize=32:x=0:y=h

  so I believe there is something related to how android is escapes quotes and simple quotes because i compiled ffmpeg with same parameters and it runs on ubuntu with spaces at the text (just need to use simple quotes)

  does anyone know about it ?
