Encoding and processing into web-friendly formats
13 avril 2011, parMediaSPIP automatically converts uploaded files to internet-compatible formats.
Video files are encoded in MP4, Ogv and WebM (supported by HTML5) and MP4 (supported by Flash).
Audio files are encoded in MP3 and Ogg (supported by HTML5) and MP3 (supported by Flash).
Where possible, text is analyzed in order to retrieve the data needed for search engine detection, and then exported as a series of image files.
All uploaded files are stored online in their original format, so you can (...)

How to provide clipping information to ffmpeg to help video encoding ?
24 septembre 2014, par krissI have written a software that create a movie using ffmpeg video encoding API. Basically I call avcode_encode_video() for each image of the movie as explained here
But in my use case I actually have many informations available about the image that could greatly help the encoder (and hopefully makes the encoding process much faster). The video I’m creating is a sequence of consecutive computer screen captures and for instance I know the list of clipping rectangles of the parts of the screen that actually changed between two frames. In many cases this is reduced to tiny parts of screen like some mouse movement or clock updates.
Is there any way using the ffmpeg C API to provide this information to encoder ?
If not is there any other free encoder providing an API that could use that kind of informations ?

FFmpeg subtitle filter set start time
31 décembre 2020, par CasualDemonI am trying to burn-in subtitles for a shorter section of a video, but using the subtitles filter always starts from the beginning of the subtitle stream, not at the specified start time, even when copying from the same video.

So for example if I start an encode 10 minutes in to a film, the video will properly be set from there, but the subtitles will start from the beginning (10 minute offset in this case).

ffmpeg -y -ss 600.0 -to 660.0 -i movie.mkv -filter_complex "[0:0]subtitles='movie.mkv':si=1[v]" -map "[v]" -c:v libx265 -crf 22 output.mkv

This is not a problem when using picture based subtitles and the overlay filter, such as :

-filter_complex "[0:0][0:2]overlay[v]"

It seems to only affect text based subtitles. I don't know if this is just not possible and will require another solution, or if I am approaching it wrong. Any help is appreciated !

all pages of the same domain keep loading until background process finish [on hold]
7 juillet 2013, par KalI upload video files to mydomain_1.com and once the upload finish I store info about the uploaded file in mydomain_1 database under table process_queue.
I have process.php under mydomain_2.com that connects to mydomain_1 database and check if process_queue table has any new entries. If there is then process.
notice we are talking two separate domains.
the moment process.php finds a new entry it starts converting the video using exec with ffmpeg.
while the process is happening I cannot access any page under mydomain_1.com. all pages keep loading forever. the moment the process is done on mydomain_2.com I get access to pages on mydomain_1.com
I thought it could be a
mysql
connection issue so on process.php I usedmysql_close($db)
immediately after every call to the database.
