  • Combining videos with ffmpeg but with 4K quality

11 mars 2023, par Burner Account

Hi guys I know the code for combining videos which is ffmpeg -f concat -i list.txt -c copy merged.mov but it only produces 720p videos. Is there a way to make it 4K or do I have to wait for merging to finish and then use another command to convert said video to 4K ? Thank you have a nice day

Tried adding the upscale command but it doesn't work.

  • FFmpeg mp4 videos load very slow outside of network

    6 juin 2014, par user3550401

I used ffmpeg to convert my videos to mp4 using libx264 and qt fast start. Im playing my videos through the HTML tag, and when im inside my network where my website is, everything plays fast. But when i try to play the video from an outside network, I have to wait about 10 seconds before a 5 second video is played. And even when its playing, its super choppy. Any reason on why this is ? I am playing the videos in Safari on my iPhone.

Here is how im encoding my videos :

    ffmpeg -i video.ts -i css/watermark.png -filter_complex overlay=10:main_h-overlay_h-10 -shortest -b:v 800k -vcodec libx264 -acodec libfaac -ar 44100 -ac 2 -b:a 128k -movflags faststart -map_metadata -1 video.mp4

  • Problems getting real width and height of videos

    1er mai 2022, par Eduardo

I'm having a problem when I upload videos. The thing is that I record my videos with my cellphone in vertical way and when I download them to my computer or pass them through whatsapp they still look vertical, I can still watch them in vertical way as I recorded them, but when I try to upload them on my website using PHP and FFMPEG I always get horizontal resolutions.

I use this command to get the width of my videos :

    $width = $video_attributes['width'] ;

The variable $video_attributes is an array that comes from a FFMPEG function that returns an array with the data related to the video.

Somebody could help me out with some ideas about what I'm doing wrong ?

I need to get the vertical resolution so my videos will be displayed in vertical containers in my website.

    Thanks in advance :)
