  • Encoding and processing into web-friendly formats

    MediaSPIP automatically converts uploaded files to internet-compatible formats.
    Video files are encoded in MP4, Ogv and WebM (supported by HTML5) and MP4 (supported by Flash).
    Audio files are encoded in MP3 and Ogg (supported by HTML5) and MP3 (supported by Flash).
    Where possible, text is analyzed in order to retrieve the data needed for search engine detection, and then exported as a series of image files.

  • Contribute to translation

    You can help us to improve the language used in the software interface to make MediaSPIP more accessible and user-friendly. You can also translate the interface into any language that allows it to spread to new linguistic communities.
    To do this, we use the translation interface of SPIP where the all the language modules of MediaSPIP are available. Just subscribe to the mailing list and request further informantion on translation.

    Some existed since forever, some are new.
    

    The cast in get_surface() is silly, but unless we change the av_log
    
function signature, or all callers of ff_dxva2_get_surface_index(), it's
    
needed to remove the const warning.

  • OSX MistServer/FFMPEG : RTMP Input/Output error

    I have an IP camera that outputs a RTSP stream that I’m trying to use to display a live feed on my website. This is a small site that only my wife and I will access so I’m trying to use a free streaming service. For that reason, I’ve decided to try MistServer’s open source option.

    I currently have downloaded MistServer and have it running without installation on my mac (sudo ./MistController). With MistServer running, I have a stream set up and default protocols configured. The stream is configured as follows :

    stream name: ipcam
    
source: push://

    The configuration page gives me the following source to push to :

    RTMP full url: rtmp://127.0.0.1/live/ipcam
    
RTMP url: rtmp://127.0.0.1/live/
    
RTMP stream key: ipcam

    In the streams view, the stream’s status is unavailable, but I’m assuming this is because it isn’t receiving an input. I haven’t been able to confirm this via documentation.

    Here is the FFMPEG command that I am running and the error that I’m getting :

    I can’t determine from this error if the issue is the FFMPEG command or my MistServer configuration.

  • Timing Issues When Muxing Audio and Video with libav

    I have series of encoded packets, H.264 video and AAC audio. As they're coming on, I'm writing them to a video file, using av_write_frame.

    Given the following situation in a row

    • 10 seconds of video, then
    • 10 seconds of video and audio, then
    • 10 seconds of video.

    Everything muxes fine and when played back via VLC or QuickTime, everything looks good. If I play it in Windows Media Player, the audio is played immediately.

    It seems I'm doing something wrong, but checking the PTS of the audio stream packets, they are set to 10 seconds based on the time base of the audio stream.
