How to specify text-only subtitles in ffmpeg
20 juin 2019, par Daniel EngelI’m trying to script some basic DVD-to-home media server processing. One of the things I’m trying to do, which seems like it should be pretty basic, is extract the text (srt) subtitles from the .mp4 file from the initial rip.
I can see the stream, and if I select the stream explicitly (by stream number), I can extract it. However, I want to script the ffmpeg command. If I try to just specify the subtitle stream with a -map option, it maps the first subtitle stream, which is often a bitmap stream instead of text stream.
So, after ripping some of my DVD’s, I’d like to process everything in a batch script, something like :
for video in *.mp4; do
...
(special code to get $subtitle filename with .srt instead of .mp4)
ffmpeg -i "$video" -map 0:s "$subtitle"
...
doneI’d like the "-map" option to cause ffmpeg to select only text-based subtitles (like mov_text), and not, for example, dvd_subtitle, irrespective of which is first in the list of streams.
Does anybody know of a way to do this ?

Processing 3.0 get Error=2 No such file or directory
29 octobre 2016, par Tuang PingfavilundaI cannot figure it out what happen to my Processing file. I am trying to use VideoExport library and my Macbook Pro cannot play it, but the Mac-mini is able to do so.
Before the error happened it is another error=13 permission denied thing, so I messed in the terminal for a while with chmod 777 and finding the file with ls. I don’t know if that may be the reason that caused this happen. FYI, I also installed ffmpeg already.
And this is the full error :
java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "/Users/Tuang/Desktop/DMA_WORKS/Work1_Facial Muscles/Cam_Rec/sketch_161027a/sketch_161027a.pde": error=2, No such file or directory

VideoExport error: Ffmpeg failed. Study /Users/Tuang/Desktop/DMA_WORKS/Work1_Facial_Muscles/Camera_Recorder/Basic/basic.mp4.txt for more details.
Could not run the sketch (Target VM failed to initialize).
For more information, read revisions.txt and Help → Troubleshooting.
</init>
1) The java.io.IOException : trying to call "/Work1_Facial Muscles/Cam_Rec/sketch_161027a/sketch_161027a.pde" which doesn’t exist for real. It is gone for a long time but seems like the program stuck here.
2) "basic" is a file name from the Example of the Library. I just use it to test. Surprisingly, Every files that have been saved and changed the name still get the java.io.IOException’s error of the missing sketch_161027a.pde file.
What I have done :
1 I have already done the Homebrew thing to install ffmpeg.
2 I deleted everything of Processing and reinstall it again.Any suggestion ?

ChromaKey FLV Transparency
1er décembre 2012, par Mr DI have over 20000 FLV's at the moment. They currently have no alpha channel and are all CGI generated text on a black background.
My issue :
I need to be able to remove the black background and make it transparent, so I can use these videos to layer over pictures in my flash project. It needs to be an automated process, that can go through the whole dir of videos and remove the backgrounds
What I've tried ?
I have spent the last three days pulling my hair out. Currently the option I see is to write a custom filter for ffmpeg.
The end goal :
Layer the flv videos over randomly generated videos in an adobe air application built in flex.
