FFmpeg video thumbnail colors look off (dull, faded, desaturated)
21 juin 2022, par schneikaiI try to generate video thumbnails with FFmpeg but the colors of the generated JPG file look very different from the video. Here is a screenshot I took while running the video in a player and the other picture is a JPG generated with FFmpeg. The video was recorded with an iPhone 12.

Converting MTS to MP4 using FFmpeg results in no/missing audio
17 mars 2021, par tenninebtI have a few videos coming from a Sony Nex-5N. Basically they are "compiled" in an AVCHD. The format that is inside is MTS. I'm able to convert the videos losslessly but the resulting MP4 has no audio.

ffmpeg -i 20201205150626.MTS -c:v copy -c:a copy -an -f mp4 20201205150626.MP4

The result is no audio. Then I tried to select explicitly the audio track using
-map 0:a:1
but it says that it does not matches no streams. Please have a look at the following extract :

> ffmpeg -i 20201205150626.MTS -c:v copy -c:a copy -map 0:a:1 -an -f mp4 20201205150626.MP4

To ignore this, add a trailing '?' to the map.

I can see an audio stream, and its index is 1. I have no clue what is happening.

FFMPEG Scale video without filtering
24 août 2023, par honiI am interested in scaling a video to a larger size without applying any filter or anything. The output video should look very pixelated. How do I do this in FFMPEG ?

On the suggestion of Ronald S. Bultje, I am using the neighbor flag. I have also decided to use the rawvideo codec to avoid compression.

The current command I am running is

ffmpeg -i vid.avi -s 800x800 -sws_flags neighbor -sws_dither none -vcodec rawvideo vid2.avi

The command line output of that command is
