To overcome the difficulties mainly due to the installation of server side software dependencies, an "all-in-one" installation script written in bash was created to facilitate this step on a server with a compatible Linux distribution.
You must have access to your server via SSH and a root account to use it, which will install the dependencies. Contact your provider if you do not have that.

I am trying to run a command on ffmpeg. When I run on my local computer it works fine but when running on my ubuntu server it won’t start. It just keeps giving an error saying the process is killed when it trys to start. Is this something related to memory or a different issue ?

  • ffmpeg fastest way to convert videos avi to mp4 [migrated]

    5 novembre 2013, par user2938660

I have server which has :

    • 8x3,4 (sandy bridge cpu)
    • 10gb ram

i tried different combinations to convert vvideos i mean avi to mp4 but it takes so long :
    - 20mins= 200mb

maybe there is some ffmpeg command which does this much faster ?

  • FFmpeg converting image sequence to video results in blank video [closed]

11 septembre 2016, par Brandon Durham

I’ve got a series of 361 .png files that I’m trying to convert to video, and for whatever reason the resulting video is just black. Here is the FFmpeg code I’m using :

    ffmpeg -f image2 -i "FeatureTour_%05d.png" -r 30 -vcodec libx264 -b:v 9600k "FeatureTour.mp4"

The files are formatted correctly (FeatureTour_00001.png) and no errors are thrown. It just results in a 160kb mp4 files that’s black.

Any idea what I’m doing wrong ?

    EDIT

Here is my output after using the above code :
