ffmpeg : Missing subtitles on iPod
7 septembre 2016, par forthrinI generating a playable video on a 3rd generation iPod Nano using the following command line, but I’m having certain challenges related to subtitles, stability and metadata.
ffmpeg -y -i in.mkv -i in.srt -profile:v baseline -level 3 -refs 6 -ar 44100 -ac 2 -ab 128k
-vf "scale=640:-1,pad=iw:480:0:(oh-ih)/2" -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map 1:0 -map_metadata -1
-movflags +faststart -scodec mov_text -metadata:s:s:0 language=eng out.mp4-
Subtitles won’t show. I tried both iPod settings "Subtitles On" and "Captions On". iPod software is latest 1.1.3. Subtitles show with OS X QuickTime after I change from "Auto" to "English" in the subtitle menu. Is there an ffmpeg flag to make subtitles display on the iPod ?

The video player exits after 11-12 minutes for many of the converted videos. Restricting the bitrate
-b:v 600k -bufsize 600k
did not help. Any advice how to circumvent this ? -
Lastly, how can I make the video show under the "TV show" menu on the iPod ? Couldn’t find any help searching for "ffmpeg metadata tv". Or is this an internal iTunes feature ?

I am new for this task and I don’t know anything about what to do.After trying and searching I found a solution with Objective-C, having a sample project which the ffmpeg lib is configured.
If anyone have ideas about how to work with ffmpeg using Swift or anyone have sample code then please share with me.

Ffmpeg : alternating audio languages in resulting movie for language learning
20 novembre 2020, par almachuar-

- Need to convert multiple-(audio)-language-video to single-audio-stream-video where 2 languages alternate repeatedly.
(10sec Lang2) + (15sec Lang3) + (10sec Lang2) + (15sec Lang3) + ... and so on till the end.
I assume it should be done with piping in and changing audio streams. (I've read ffmpeg piping documentation but didn't quite understand it).

I've done audio switching task (with scripting on Windows) by lively changing audio languages in video player but need better and crossplatform solution for little kid - preprepared video.

-

- If possible, to adjust loudness of one of the input audio streams to the other.

P.S. Think it would be useful for many married (programmers) to show little kids bilingual cartoons. (To prepare for language learning). By balancing 10/15 sec you may retain kid's attention — the older they grow the more native language they demand.

Irrelevant, just for what's my experience :

%ffmpeg% -y -f concat -safe 0 -i %playlist% -i %picture% -map:v 0 -map:v 1 -c:v copy -disposition:v:0 attached_pic -ac 1 -af aresample=resampler=soxr -ar 16000 -%title% -%album% -%artist% %lyrics% -c:a aac -q:a 1 %output%
