    Some old CPUs (eg Cyrix) set EDX but not ECX when executing CPUID.
    
One of the solutions is to clear ECX before calling cpuid. From

    According to patch author GCC can optimize expressions like
    
"(a<<8)|(a>>8)", but has problems with "(a<<8)+(a>>8)".

    When no drawing is to be performed, tpad can work fine with
    
hardware frames, so advertise this in the query_formats
    
callback and ensure the drawing context is never initialised
    
when just cloning frames.
