Using ffmpeg to read mp4 file from stdin and extract image is failing with "Invalid data found when processing input"
16 mars 2023, par jsindosUsing ffmpeg, I'm trying to read an mp4 file from stdin, and save the last frame of the file to jpg.

cat PXL_20221118_051057924.TS.mp4 | ffmpeg -sseof -3 -i - -f mp4 -update 1 -q:v 1 last.jpg

The command works fine when not running from stdin.

When running from stdin, an empty file is created, with the following error message :

[mov,mp4,m4a,3gp,3g2,mj2 @ 0x7fcb4d0041c0] stream 1, offset 0x2eaee0d: partial file
pipe:: Invalid data found when processing input

I've posted the full output below.

how to use intel quick sync properly for ffmpeg hardware acceleration ?
23 avril 2023, par basel Qti have been using ffmpeg for a while now but it is very slow.so i wanted to speed up the process with hardware acceleration.
it works just fine with h264 but when i use hevc the result video seems kind of corrupt.

when i play it on windows player, if i want to skip playback to a certain timepoint, ill have to wait for 5 seconds or more because it pauses then continues playback from that point.
on android though with google photos app it doesnt even skip ahead, when i try skipping it it keeps coming back to the beggining just as if it was corrupted.
note that this issue doesnt happen when encoding in hevc without hardware acceleration and it plays just fine.
my gpu is intel uhd graphics for 10th gen processors and i have core i3-1005g1 processor which should support hardware acceleration for hevc
also note that if i try to use hardware acceleration with h264 it works just fine....

my ffmpeg command is :-map_metadata 0 -vcodec hevc -b:v 820k -c:a aac -b:a 64k

and no matter what i change in the command,if i still use hevc_qsv it has the same problem

i tried using hardware acceleration and i expected a smooth playback,the result was a faulty video.

Opencv VideoCapture not streaming RTSP link and returns "no frame !"
6 septembre 2023, par Asadullah NaeemI am trying to stream my HikVision IP camera throough python. I am using
cv2.VideoCapture("rtsp_link")
which works fine on my Laptop but when I try to run the same python script with same Opencv and FFmpeg version it gives me following error :

Error :

[h264 @ 000002124c7f9a40] missing picture in access unit with size 47
[h264 @ 000002124c7f9a40] no frame!

I have so far tried to run this script on 5 computer devices but it gives the same error. I am using the following python script and my Opencv version is
4.6.0.66
and ffmpeg version2022-06-20-git-56419428a8-essentials_build-www.gyan.dev
:

Python Script :

import cv2

# RTSP stream URL
rtsp_url = "rtsp://username:password@ip_address:port/Streaming/Channels/501"

# Open the RTSP stream
cap = cv2.VideoCapture(rtsp_url)

# Check if the stream was successfully opened
if not cap.isOpened():
 print("Failed to open RTSP stream.")
 exit()

# Read and display frames from the stream
while True:
 # Read a frame from the stream
 ret, frame = cap.read()

 # Check if the frame was successfully read
 if not ret:
 print("Failed to read frame from RTSP stream.")
 break

 # Display the frame
 cv2.imshow("RTSP Stream", frame)

 # Exit if 'q' is pressed
 if cv2.waitKey(1) & 0xFF == ord('q'):
 break

# Release the resources
cap.release()
cv2.destroyAllWindows()

Update :

Code runs on a laptop on both wifi and mobile internet (4G) but on other devices rtsp link is accessible only with mobile internet (4G).
