    I have an MPTS video file, which has 4 videos in it. I want to extract images from each video and store them in a directory separately. I am using ffmpeg, I have seen references from previous solved questions.

    I used below command to extract frames.

    ffmpeg -threads 8 -i input.ts -s 400x222 -qscale:v 4 -start_number 0 -vf fps=1 /storage/frames/input_1//%d.jpg /storage/frames/input_2//%d.jpg /storage/frames/input_3//%d.jpg /storage/frames/input_4//%d.jpg

    But frames extracted only for first video in MPTS stream. How can I achieve using this using a single ffmpeg command ?

  • Python get list of streams from video (audio/video)

    I have a video file and I want to get the list of streams from it. I can see the needed result by for example executing a simple `ffprobe video.mp4 :

    ....
    
Stream #0:0(eng): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661) ......
    
Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: aac (LC) (mp4a / 0x6134706D), ......
    
....

    But I need to use python and code that will work both on Windows and Ubuntu, without executing an external process.

    My real goal is to check whether there is ANY audio stream within the video (a simple yes/no would suffice), but I think getting extra information can be helpful for my problem, so I’m asking about the entire streams

    EDIT : Clarifying that I need to avoid executing some external process, but looking for some python code/library to do it within the process.

  • Extracting audio from video per video frame (C++) [on hold]

    Several days ago I had written an interface (in C) to simple DLL library which processes video in OpenCV using Qt5 framework. There is a function which takes frame ID and returns the raw picture data of the frame (so it can be played in Unity using C#). There is however no function to extract corresponding audio. So I am looking for a way to write such a function.

    I am thinking of a way to extract audio from video file (say MP4 with MPEG-4), with length of the corresponding video frame. But so far I have found only tutorials about extracting whole track (via FFMPEG) either to save or play the sound.

    Is there a way to extract only a "frame" (1/fps seconds of audio) ? Or would it be better to create indexes and extract whole track ?

    PS : Usual questions deal with whole track, not one frame-length sample specified by video frame ID. I have little knowledge of the FFMPEG and it has been several months since I used it last in uni project.

    I have frame, it’s ID, but no sound to it.
