• difference between using SDL and using media player class that is videoview

  I have been surfing the net for some time to get basic understanding of media framework in android. As part of this,

  To display video we have media player class or video view component which can easily display the video. When we have such solution provided by the framework itself, then why there are few components avaiable like SDL [ Simple Direct Media Layer], which claims the same functionality as video view.?

  How both are different ?

  Kindly bare with me, if the question is very basic.

  I planned to implement Streaming site using Java and have a few questions. If my knowledge is wrong, please correct them.

  


  

  1. flow chart is video - encoder - media server - cdn - video player - client

  


  2. I want to know what each components' (video, encoder, media server, cdn,v ideo player) roles are. (especially media server and video player..)

  


  3. I planned to implement media server and use ffmpeg which encodes video and I think it acts as an encoder in flow chart.

  


  4. why using RTMP between encoder and media server ? Isn't streaming protocol HLS used when the media server sends a video to the user because it's streaming that plays files in real time without the need for viewers to download all the files ? Why is the streaming protocol used to send videos from the encoder to the media server ?

• Flutter_ffmpeg is discontinued. Is there a way still to use it in a flutter project ?

  I have been using the flutter_ffmpeg package in a Flutter project. But now, when I run the project, I get a build failure exception. Is there a way to still use it in a Flutter project ?
