  • Pass ffmpeg stream through opencv-python script

    18 février 2019, par luddite478

    Please tell me how to pass my stream from ffmepg through python script, get response back, and pass it to ffmpeg again ?
    For now i have something like this :

     FFMPEG_SCRIPT = [ "ffmpeg",  '-i', 'fifo',  '-pix_fmt', 'bgr24',  '
       -vcodec', 'rawvideo', '-an', '-sn', '-f', 'mpegts', '-' ]
       pipe = sp.Popen(FFMPEG_SCRIPT, stdout = sp.PIPE, bufsize=4096)

    After this i’m just reading video-frames in while loop

    while True:
        frame = pipe.stdout.read(480*720*3)
        sys.stdout.write(frame)

    So how can i access the frame after i wrote it to stdout at the last line ?

    UPD

    Ok, saving audio-track in the stream wasn’t easy. After some bash magic i was able to receive some decent output. Warning : this script is very far from ideal.

  • Dolby Vision Mp4 to HLS Stream

    23 avril 2022, par goodkid38

    Is it possible to create a dolby vision HLS stream with ffmpeg ? I have tried online tutorials such as this one https://codecalamity.com/encoding-uhd-4k-hdr10-videos-with-ffmpeg/#saving-dolby-vision but I have not seen any success. I either get hevc files with no dv from tsmuxer, invalid rpu files or the Skipping NAL unit 63 message from ffmpeg. Here is the current ffmpeg command I'm testing to at least get an hevc with dolby vision

    ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -c:v copy -f hevc - | dovi_tool extract-rpu --rpu-out input.rpu - | x265-10b - --input-depth 10 --output-depth 10 --y4m --preset veryfast --crf 22 --master-display "G(8500,39850)B(6550,2300)R(35400,14600)WP(15635,16450)L(40000000,50)" --max-cll "0,0" --colormatrix bt2020nc --colorprim bt2020 --transfer smpte2084 --dolby-vision-rpu input.rpu --dolby-vision-profile 8.1 --vbv-bufsize 20000 --vbv-maxrate 20000 output.hevc

    I have also tried with dovi_tool like so

    ffmpeg -i nameofmovie.mp4 -f yuv4mpegpipe -strict -1 -pix_fmt yuv420p10le - | x265-10b - --input-depth 10 --output-depth 10 --y4m --preset veryfast --crf 22 --master-display "G(8500,39850)B(6550,2300)R(35400,14600)WP(15635,16450)L(40000000,50)" --max-cll "0,0" --colormatrix bt2020nc --colorprim bt2020 --transfer smpte2084 --dolby-vision-rpu input.rpu --dolby-vision-profile 8.1 --vbv-bufsize 20000 --vbv-maxrate 20000 output.hevc

    Which gives me this error :

    [hevc @ 000002f047aaf1c0] Skipping NAL unit 63
    Last message repeated 1 times
av_interleaved_write_frame(): Invalid argument

    Theoretically I'd like to go from mkv straight to HLS with dolby vision but that seems to be even more problematic.

    Any suggestions ?

  • How to save video recording(webcam) and screen recording to directly Mp4 in windows ?

    10 juillet 2019, par SaddamBinSyed

    I have an applicaiton which running as a windows service which is responsible for Recording the video/audio and screen capture as well.

    now I am using DirectX lib and Aforge dll to save recorded file to AVI format which is not supported by HTML 5 so I am then converting the same to mp4 using NVideoConverter dll.

    now I am facing high CPU utilization (30% -recording service) FFmpeg (30% conversion task).

    So I wanting a solution/method to directly record as an MP4 format to get rid of conversion part as well as CPU utilization.

    I couldn’t use FFmpeg directly to the record since when user logoff/signout the current recording will get corrupted.

    So How can I record as an Mp4 in windows 7 and 10 ?

    also, I came across that win10 default camera application is saving the recording directly as Mp4 file which is playing well in both IE and chrome.

    so it means there is a way in windows 10.

    If anyone implemented/knows about the same please advise me.

    help highly appreciated.

    thanks.
