  • Multilang : améliorer l’interface pour les blocs multilingues

    Multilang est un plugin supplémentaire qui n’est pas activé par défaut lors de l’initialisation de MediaSPIP.
    Après son activation, une préconfiguration est mise en place automatiquement par MediaSPIP init permettant à la nouvelle fonctionnalité d’être automatiquement opérationnelle. Il n’est donc pas obligatoire de passer par une étape de configuration pour cela.

  • How to stream only a part of a video without downloading the whole thing ?

    I am building a YouTube video trimmer, and currently, it takes the YouTube video ID, downloads the whole video from the server (Even it is like 10 hours long), and then it trims it according to user's inputted timeframe using ffmpeg.

    


    Now the problem with this is that it takes so much time to download the whole video even if we want a small piece of it hence it is highly impractical.

    


    I was thinking to implement something like an HTML5 video player does when you seek the video forward. It just jumps to the part where you seek-ed to without downloading the part you skipped over. How can I only download a part of a video file from a server in form of a buffer and then generate an already trimmed video file from that ? I don't know if that is even possible on the server-side, but video players do it on the client-side.

    


  • Why doesn't the lame mp3 codec (libmp3lame) create XingHeaders ?

    I downloaded a video from youtube whose audio was encoded in aac and transcoded it to an mp3 using the libmp3lame codec.

    $ ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -vn -acodec libmp3lame -- test.mp3

    Now when I try to write id3 tags to it using the taglib example tagwriter I get the following warning :

    $ ./testwriter -t 'stuff' test.mp3
    
TagLib: MPEG::XingHeader::parse() -- Xing header doesn't contain the total stream size.

    The id3 tags are written and display correctly, but the lack of the XingHeaders causes older players to loop the song several times.

    Why doesn't the lame mp3 codec create XingHeaders ? How do I create XingHeaders ?

  • recive klv data from a ffmpeg multicast

    I am trying to get the klv data from a .mpeg.

    I tried this command and it works perfectly :

    ffmpeg -i video.mpg -map data-re -codec copy -f data data.klv

    (This first command has "data-re" which just works on linux, but it is the only way I found to get the .klv I need)

    Now I would like to open two CMD and transfer it by multicast, how could I do this ? i tried many comands like next ones, but I do not get the same .klv

    sender : ffmpeg -i video.mpeg -c copy -f mpegts udp://239.1.1.1:49410

    receiver : ffmpeg -i udp://239.1.1.1:49410 -map 0 -codec copy -f data data.klv

    I am new with ffmpeg and I do not know exactly what I need to change to get exactly whay I get in the first command.
