    Lors de son installation, SPIPmotion crée une nouvelle table dans la base de donnée intitulée spip_spipmotion_attentes.

  • Encoding and processing into web-friendly formats

    MediaSPIP automatically converts uploaded files to internet-compatible formats.
    Video files are encoded in MP4, Ogv and WebM (supported by HTML5) and MP4 (supported by Flash).
    Audio files are encoded in MP3 and Ogg (supported by HTML5) and MP3 (supported by Flash).
    Where possible, text is analyzed in order to retrieve the data needed for search engine detection, and then exported as a series of image files.

    Matomo has now officially reached 10,000 stars on Github ! It warms our hearts to know we’re on the right path and still getting such great support. 

    From the team here we’d like to say thank you ! Especially to all of you who have made Matomo the #1 free open source web analytics platform in the world !

    Today, Matomo is used on over 1.4 million websites, in over 190 countries, translated in more than 50 languages ; and it’s all because of you.

    The most exciting part is that this is only the beginning, there is an exciting journey ahead and with your help we will continue our mission to always respect your privacy and give users full control of their data.

    Kia ora from the marketing team !

    Marketing team ? That’s right ! You haven’t heard from us in the past, but we’ve been working in the background to create a better experience for you, our dedicated Matomo community.

    Kia ora ? Well, that just means “hello” in Maori, we’re based in New Zealand you see.

    The Matomo marketing team has some really exciting projects in the works we wanted to share with you, but first, there’s someone I want to introduce :

    Meet Joselyn from the Matomo Marketing team

    Meet Joselyn, one half of the Matomo marketing team and our Digital Marketing and Communications Specialist. Joselyn has come on board to help us communicate more frequently and effectively as we continue our mission to be the #1 free open source analytics platform in the world. Please take it away, Joselyn !

    “Hi everyone ! The team here at Matomo have been doing an incredible job passionately driving the cause for user privacy and data ownership and uniting that with a love for digital analytics. It’s exciting being a part of a team unafraid to push on with their hearts on their sleeves and their values at the forefront of everything they do. I hope to bring to light all the fantastic things happening in our world of web analytics as well as across the globe.

    Our online world is fascinating when we think about what we can achieve with analytics, but there’s room to improve. We see newer technologies, but old ways of working which don’t take into account a person’s safety online. So we hope to champion a new future which looks set to be much more meaningful. Ensuring you get the best experience, but also feel protected with the knowledge that we get it. Your data and privacy isn’t for sale.

    Thanks Joselyn ! On top of working to engage the community and new users, Joselyn will also be keeping the rest of the Matomo team on our toes getting the inside scoop on what’s happening within the Development and Support teams ; as well as giving you behind-the-scenes access to what’s going on here at Matomo. We have a big vision and with so many things happening right now, we want to get you involved as much as possible.

    It may sound a bit clichéd but I’m saying it anyway – without your help, Matomo wouldn’t be here today.

    Help us choose a logo

    So first of all, we want you to say thank you and second we’d be delighted if you could help choose our new logo ! As you may already know, we changed our name from Piwik to Matomo at the start of the year. Though it was fun using a cool font (Aileron Heavy btw) as a quick fix for our name change, it was a temporary solution. The Matomo team has been involved in the direction of creating a new logo, but now we’re stumped ! We have three different concepts to choose from so please help us out !

    A new website for Matomo.org !

    Other exciting marketing projects include a new website design (yay !) – to everyone gasping nervously…don’t worry, nothing in what we offer is changing. We are and always will be a freely accessible open source analytics platform, just wanted to quickly clear the air on that one !

    We also have some video projects in the works to make the Matomo experience better for everyone and there are even rumours a brand video that tells the Matomo story is on the way ;)

    What next ? With Joselyn on board and loads of exciting projects happening, it won’t be long until you hear from us again, so keep an eye out for our next update as we reveal the winning Matomo logo.

  • Matomo’s new story : our stronger vision for the future

    Over the past year, the team here at Matomo have been working on a very exciting project we’d love to share with you.

    It’s to do with the impact we hope for Matomo to have.

    As you all know, the world changes at too fast a pace. New technologies, new phones, new everything in the blink of an eye. That’s not what will be happening here.

    Instead, we’d like to believe it’s a refresh. Taking stock of how far we’ve come, what we’ve achieved so far, and how far we still have to go.

    So we’re rebranding.

    The rebrand

    Like a caterpillar emerging from a cocoon, we hope to be a reborn analytics butterfly.

    As a result of some careful planning and reflection we’ll be updating our logo, website and reasserting our voice.

    It’s our chance to look at ourselves in a new light. We are a mighty analytics platform and it should be known we’re comparable to the likes of Google Analytics 360.

    Along with the refresh of imagery, we listened to your feedback about the confusion between our two identities, so we’re also taking this opportunity to unite both the business brand of Innocraft with the community brand Matomo into one website.

    It makes it easier for people from all walks of life, either as individuals or in large companies, to see us as being able to get down to business with a powerful analytics tool, as well as think on behalf of our community.

    We’re the same, but with slight changes in our appearance and a stronger vision for the future.

    How far we’ve come …

    When we started out, it was about building a community around a movement. From the beginning we were concerned about data ownership, privacy and all things that came with that.

    With the help of our community and contributors, we turned Matomo (formerly Piwik) into the trusted #1 open source analytics tool it is today. We’re committed to our community. But we also need to do more.

    We’ve been niche and happy staying small, but now we need to take action and start shouting far and wide about what we do.

    We once said we need : “To create, as a community, the leading international open source digital analytics platform, that gives every user full control of their data.”

    We believe we’ve done that, so we’ll take it one step further.

    A web analytics revolution has begun …

    Begun ?

    The line signifies a new beginning.

    This is us standing up and reasserting our voice.

    Our new chapter.

    The rebrand is our chance to show that, yes, the world is changing, but when it comes to privacy, there are matters meant to be sacred. Privacy is a human right.

    What makes it worse in this ever-changing landscape, with data breaches and stolen information, is that losing control of our data is scary, we have a right to know what’s going on with our information and this must start with us.

    We know we need to champion this cause for privacy and data ownership.

    We came together as a community and built something powerful, a free open-source analytics platform, that kept the integrity of the people using it.

    It’s important for us now to feel more empowered to believe in our right to privacy, information and our ability to act independently of large corporations.

    The time is here for us to speak up and take back control.

    Once more, we need to come together to build something even more powerful, a safer online society.
