• Rails : Encoder error when converting video using FFMPEG on Heroku

  I'm trying to upload a video and convert the file to mp4 and reduce the file size using the paperclip-ffmpeg and paperclip gems. Everything works fine running a local server and I'm only getting this problem on heroku. I have ffmpeg installed in vendor/ffmpeg/ (I followed these steps : https://gist.github.com/3963576). Here is the code I've got and the error I'm getting :

  Everything works fine until the message Unknown encoder 'libx264' so I'm thinking it's something to do with ffmpeg perhaps ?

• ffmpeg loop not found error

  I am trying to use image.gif as a still for the entire duration of audio.mp3, and make a video from it. here is the current command I am using

  ffmpeg -i audio.mp3 -loop 1 -i image.gif -acodec copy video.avi

  this works, but goes on for ages constantly increasing audio file, which makes me believe it's looping the mp3 file or something.

  I tried changing the audio/image around, but it doesn't work and says :

  Option loop not found.

  I tried -shortest too, which I thought matched the length to the audio, but it makes the file twice the size of the MP3 + the size of the image file.

  I'm trying to convert an image sequence to a video file with some text overlay(eventually frame counter).

  The command I am using

  ffmpeg -r 24 -y -i mambo_%05d.png -i ..\3DW_Mambo.wav \
  
    -vf drawtext="fontfile=/Windows/Fonts/arial.ttf:text='test' " test.mp4

  Unfortunately everytime I try running it, it can't seem to find the font.
  I've seen other people succesfully use the same syntax, so not sure what I might be doing different ?

  I've checked that the font is named correctly.
