How to install a Matomo premium feature
31 janvier 2018, par InnoCraftYou may have noticed over the last few months that many fantastic new features have been launched on the Matomo Marketplace. As some of them are paid premium features, you may wonder if the process to install them is straightforward, if you can test them before, and whether there is any support behind it. No worries – we’ve got you covered ! This blog post will answer some questions you may have about getting your first premium plugin.
So why are there some premium features ?
Researching, building, documenting, testing and maintaining quality products take years of experience and months of hard work by the team behind the scenes. When you purchase a premium plugin, you get a fully working product and you directly help the Matomo core engineers to grow and fund the new Free Matomo versions and cool features.
However, it is important for us to mention that Matomo will always be free, it is a Free software under GPLv3 license and it will always be the same.
Want to know more about this ? Check out our FAQ about why there are premium features. Can I test a premium feature before a purchase ?
Absolutely. There are two ways in order to do that :
- InnoCraft Matomo Cloud
- Matomo Marketplace
1. InnoCraft Matomo Cloud
The easiest way is to create a free trial account (one minute of your time) on our Matomo cloud service. You will then have the possibility to test all the premium features during a 30-day trial period. No credit card is required.
Every premium feature can be trialled for free on the Matomo Cloud
2. Matomo Marketplace
The second way is to get the premium feature from the Matomo Marketplace. We have an easy and hassle-free 30-day money back guarantee period on each feature. This means that if you are not happy with a premium feature and you are within the 30-day period, then you will get a full refund for it. Guaranteed !
How to purchase and install a premium feature ?
Step 1 : Purchasing the feature
In order to get a premium feature, just add it to the cart :
Once done, go to your cart and complete the checkout process to confirm the order.
When the order is confirmed, you immediately get your license key on the order confirmation page. You also receive the license key by email.
Step 2 : Activating the feature in your Matomo
Now that you have received the license key, it is time to activate the plugin in your Matomo :
- Log in to your Matomo and go to “Administration => Marketplace
- Copy / paste the license key into the license field at the top of the page and click “Activate”
- The key will now be activated and you will see a couple of new buttons.
- To install the premium feature(s) you just purchased in one click, simply click on “Install purchased plugins”. Alternatively, you can scroll down in the Marketplace to the premium feature you purchased and click on “Install”. You can also download the ZIP file on https://shop.matomo.org/my-account/downloads
And that’s it. The installation of a premium feature is as easy as copy/pasting the license key and clicking a button. Because one license key is linked to all purchased premium features, you only need to enter the license key once. The next time you purchase a premium feature, you simply click on “Install” to have it up and running.
Updating a premium feature
Updates for premium features work just like regular plugin updates. When there is a new update available, you will see a notification in the Matomo UI and also receive an email (if enabled under “General Settings”). To upgrade the feature simply click on “Update” and you’re done.
Which support is provided for each of those premium features ?
Premium features represent most of our day to day activity, so you can be 100% sure that we will do our maximum in order to answer any of your questions regarding them. To be 100% transparent, we often receive answers from our customers telling us how impressed they are by the quality of the service we are offering.
Have any questions ?
We are happy to answer any questions you may have so feel free to get in touch with us.
Thanks !

DXGI Desktop Duplication : encoding frames to send them over the network
31 août 2018, par prazuberI’m trying to write an app which will capture a video stream of the screen and send it to a remote client. I’ve found out that the best way to capture a screen on Windows is to use DXGI Desktop Duplication API (available since Windows 8). Microsoft provides a neat sample which streams duplicated frames to screen. Now, I’ve been wondering what is the easiest, but still relatively fast way to encode those frames and send them over the network.
The frames come from
AcquireNextFrame
with a surface that contains the desktop bitmap and metadata which contains dirty and move regions that were updated. From here, I have a couple of options :- Extract a bitmap from a DirectX surface and then use an external library like ffmpeg to encode series of bitmaps to H.264 and send it over RTSP. While straightforward, I fear that this method will be too slow as it isn’t taking advantage of any native Windows methods. Converting D3D texture to a ffmpeg-compatible bitmap seems like unnecessary work.
- From this answer : convert D3D texture to IMFSample and use MediaFoundation’s SinkWriter to encode the frame. I found this tutorial of video encoding, but I haven’t yet found a way to immediately get the encoded frame and send it instead of dumping all of them to a video file.
Since I haven’t done anything like this before, I’m asking if I’m moving in the right direction. In the end, I want to have a simple, preferably low latency desktop capture video stream, which I can view from a remote device.
Also, I’m wondering if I can make use of dirty and move regions provided by Desktop Duplication. Instead of encoding the frame, I can send them over the network and do the processing on the client side, but this means that my client has to have DirectX 11.1 or higher available, which is impossible if I would want to stream to a mobile platform.

when concatenating video segments ffmpeg shows error : "Media type mismatch between the parsed_overlay_20"
27 janvier 2018, par user2642511773/5000
I’m trying to apply a scaling and chromakey effect to different segments of a video and then combine those segments again into one.To improve the time and performance I have developed a program that creates all the filters in a single command.
The plan is simple, I have a video * .mov recorded with a green screen and a background * .jpg,
- I first prepare a couple of backgrounds with blur effect from the JPG image
- I then apply chromakey to make the green part of the video transparent
- I trim the video to which I applied the chromakey in several time segments and to each segment I applied a scale and crop and I overlay it to one of the backgrounds prepared in step 1
- Concatenate all segments already processed.
When I execute the resulting command it gives me the error
the command is this :
ffmpeg -i "C:\ffmpeg\pruebas\FFBlue_ProjectsFiles\chroma\green1.mov" -i C:\ffmpeg\pruebas\FFBlue_ProjectsFiles\fondos\sc.jpg -filter_complex " [1:v]scale=iw*3:-1,crop=w=iw/3:h=ih/3:y=(ih-oh)/3:x=((iw-ow)/2)+(ow/2-ow/3),boxblur=7:2[fondo_3IZQ] ; [1:v]scale=iw*4:-1,crop=w=iw/4:h=ih/4:y=(ih-oh)/3:x=(in_w-out_w)/2,boxblur=6:2[fondo_4CEN] ; [1:v]scale=iw*5:-1,crop=w=iw/5:h=ih/5:y=(ih-oh)/3:x=((iw-ow)/2)+(ow/2-ow/3),boxblur=5:2[fondo_5IZQ] ; [0]chromakey=color=#83BD46:similarity = 0.1 : blend = 0.05,selectivecolor=reds=0 0 0 -1:yellows=0 0.1 0 -0.5:greens=0 0 -1 0:whites=0 0 0 -0.7 [vid] ; [vid] trim=start=0:duration=0,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS,scale=iw*4:-1,crop=w=iw/4:h=ih/4:y=(ih-oh)/3:x=((iw-ow)/2)+(ow/2-ow/3)[vid_0] ; [fondo_4CEN][vid_0]overlay[toma_0] ; [vid] trim=start=0:duration=3.41933,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS,scale=iw*3:-1,crop=w=iw/3:h=ih/3:y=(ih-oh)/3:x=(in_w-out_w)/2[vid_1] ; [fondo_3IZQ][vid_1]overlay[toma_1] ; [vid] trim=start=3.41932988166809:duration=2.85067,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS,scale=iw*5:-1,crop=w=iw/5:h=ih/5:y=(ih-oh)/3:x=(in_w-out_w)/2[vid_2] ; [fondo_5IZQ][vid_2]overlay[toma_2] ; [toma_0] [toma_1] [toma_2] concat=n=3:v=1:a=1:unsafe=1 [v_concatenado][a_concatenado]" -map [v_concatenado] -map [a_concatenado] "C:\ffmpeg\pruebas\FFBlue_ProjectsFiles\chroma\green1_FINAL.mov"
