Nginx + rtmp + ffmpeg best practice to publish multiple resolutions streaming from video file
7 novembre 2019, par youssef hamdaneI want to make livestream from video file to multiple resolutions (480,720) using nginx and rtmp, what is the best practice that I can do for that :
1 - transcode video and store it with all resolutions that I need when user upload it using ffmpeg, and then publish every file directly
example :
rtmp {
server {
listen 1935;
notify_method get;
application live {
live on;
ffmpeg -re -i /path/video_720.mp4
-re -i /path/video_480.mp4
-map 0 vcodec libx264 -threads 0 -vprofile baseline -acodec aac -strict -2 -f flv rtmp://localhost:1935/show/${name}_720
-map 0 vcodec libx264 -threads 0 -vprofile baseline -acodec aac -strict -2 -f flv rtmp://localhost:1935/show/${name}_480
}
application show {
live on;
hls on;
hls_path /stream/live/hls;
hls_nested on;
record off;
# Instruct clients to adjust resolution according to bandwidth
hls_variant _720 BANDWIDTH=2048000; # High bitrate, HD 720p resolution
hls_variant _480 BANDWIDTH=448000; # Medium bitrate, SD resolution
}
}
}2 - keep original video and publish it on different resolutions with ffmpeg
example :
rtmp {
server {
listen 1935;
notify_method get;
application live {
live on;
exec_pull ffmpeg -re -i http://server_ip/$app/$name -vcodec libx264 -threads 0 -vprofile baseline -acodec aac -strict -2 -b:v 1920k -b:a 128k -vf "scale=1280:trunc(ow/a/2)*2" -f flv rtmp://localhost:1935/show/${name}_720
-vcodec libx264 -threads 0 -vprofile baseline -acodec aac -strict -2 -b:v 1024k -b:a 128k -vf "scale=854:trunc(ow/a/2)*2" -f flv rtmp://localhost:1935/show/${name}_480;
}
application show {
live on;
hls on;
hls_path /home/stream/live/hls;
hls_nested on;
record off;
# Instruct clients to adjust resolution according to bandwidth
hls_variant _720 BANDWIDTH=2048000; # High bitrate, HD 720p resolution
hls_variant _480 BANDWIDTH=448000; # Medium bitrate, SD resolution
}

[Turmux][ffmpeg] encounter "can't open stat file" when use "-pass"
15 février 2020, par Jackal ZhaoI installed ffmpeg in turmux, in my home directory, ran :
ffmpeg -y -i /sdcard/FFMPEG/in.mp4 -c:v libx264 -b:v 2600k -pass 2 -c:a copy /sdcard/FFMPEG/out3.mp4
the error bumps :
ratecontrol_init: can't open stats file
if I enter
/sdcard/FFMEPG
folder first, then run
ffmpeg -y -i /sdcard/FFMPEG/in.mp4 -c:v libx264 -b:v 2600k -pass 2 -c:a copy /sdcard/FFMPEG/out3.mp4
the task will run successfully.then I went back to turmux home directory, ran
ffmpeg -y -i /sdcard/FFMPEG/in.mp4 -c:v libx264 -b:v 2600k -pass 2 -c:a copy /sdcard/FFMPEG/out3.mp4
, error still happens.so I then added
-strict -2 -passlogfile /tmp/mydummy
and ran ran
ffmpeg -y -i /sdcard/FFMPEG/in.mp4 -c:v libx264 -strict -2 -passlogfile /sdcard/FFMPEG/ -b:v 2600k -pass 2 -c:a copy /sdcard/FFMPEG/out3.mp4
, and same error still happens.My question is, how to use ffmpeg "-pass" in termux successfully without especially entering the target folder ?

Looking for a general purpose way to merge audio and video file and make an output have stereo audio with FFmpeg
21 février 2020, par Pineapple JoeSo have have the following FFmpeg command
ffmpeg -i vidab.mp4 -i recab.webm -filter_complex "[0:a]volume=0.2,apad[A];[1:a][A]amerge[Aout]" -map 0:v -map [Aout] -y mergeab.mp4
When the input files are played separately their audio is played equally through both headphones.
But after being merged the audio from the video is on the right side and the audio from the webm file is on the left side.
I see this in the output when I run the cmd
[Parsed_amerge_2 @ 0x7fa0faf01bc0] No channel layout for input 1
[Parsed_amerge_2 @ 0x7fa0faf01bc0] Input channel layouts overlap: output layout will be determined by the number of distinct input channelsHow can I adjust this so that the output file has the audio from both the inputs in equally in the left and right sides ?
Also is there a generic way to do this such that even different configurations (video has stereo and audio has mono ... or both have stereo) result in the Audio being split evenly.
I tried using the pan filter but there is something I am not understanding about how it works because either nothing happens or I flip left and right. But I am not getting even stereo.
fwiw here is the full output.
ffmpeg -i vidab.mp4 -i recab.webm -filter_complex "[0:a]volume=0.2,apad[A];[1:a][A]amerge[Aout]" -map 0:v -map [Aout] -y mergeab.mp4
