  • ffmpeg - Live stream to web browser [on hold]

    I was looking for a solution to stream my desktop live on my Windows system and found out ffmpeg is a good solution using dshow and everything is working fine and well. I’m using a C# wrapper for ffmpeg to record my desktop and I can save it in a local file.

    The problem I have is that, I have to watch the stream on my Web browser ( Chrome / Firefox ). I can’t use Media Server’s like wowza, red5 and also can’t use ffserver.

    I tried the ffmpeg wiki https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki and documentation but couldn’t figure out how to do this.

    Please help me to figure out this, how I can do this.

  • ffmpeg concatenate videos - what metadata needs to match [duplicate]

    I am trying to concatenate videos that can come from a variety of sources.

    


    I was just using the -f concat option, but this runs into issues when the formats don't watch.

    


    I can use the filter_complex option (as described in the wiki - https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Concatenate) but this is much slower.

    


    What metadata (codec, bitrate, fps, etc) needs to match so that I can use the faster -f concat option to join the videos ? My understanding here is not great atm.

    


  • ffmpeg horizonal flip makes video shorter

    I am trying to use the following command to flip my video horizontally

    



    ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -vf hflip -c:a copy video_flip.mp4


    



    However, I discovered that it makes the video shorter, which I did not intend.

    



    I originally created the video using FFMpegWriter in Python, the code looks something like this

    



    metadata = dict(title='video', artist='me', comment='Watch this!')
writer = FFMpegWriter(fps=25, metadata=metadata)
with writer.saving(fig, "video.mp4", 100):
    for t in range(100):
        ax.cla()        
        ax.plot(x,y)

        writer.grab_frame()


    



    What am I doing wrong ?
