• Connection timed out error for ffmpeg libraries installation

  I am trying to compile ffmpeg on my centos server. Here is the link I am using as a reference :

  Here is the command I entered :

  git clone --depth 1 git://source.ffmpeg.org/ffmpeg

  And this is the error message that popped up

  Initialized empty Git repository in /root/ffmpeg_sources/ffmpeg/.git/
  
  source.ffmpeg.org[0: 2a01:e0d:1:3:58bf:fa76:0:1]: errno=Connection timed out
  
  source.ffmpeg.org[0: 88.191.250.118]: errno=Connection timed out
  
  fatal: unable to connect a socket (Connection timed out)

  PLease help why is it coming and what can be done to avoid

• glreadpixels is slower than x11 based screenshot

  I am working on an opengl based simulation application, in which I need to make multiple screenshots in a second. I have tried 2 ways of doing it in my application.
  1) use glreadpixels
  2) use x11 based screenshot. ex : ffmpeg -f x11grab -s 1024x768 -i :0.0 output.png

  I found that second solution is about 3 times faster than first one. I have expected the first solution to be faster. But in practice it is slower. I am curious why glreadpixels is slower ?

• How to use guardianproject's ffmpeg library for android

  Here’s the link to the ffmpeg android library I’m trying to use :

  I’m trying to follow what is written in this post in order to use it :

  1. Included the ffmpeg library project into the eclipse. (File > Import)
  2. Added the ffmpeg library to my application. (Right clicked my project’s name > Properties > Android > Library)

  However I can’t get it to work. I get the following errors :

  In console :

  android-ffmpeg-library] Could not find android-ffmpeg-library.apk!

  In DDMS :

  07-24 17:00:24.990: E/AndroidRuntime(23935): java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.ffmpeg.android.FfmpegController

  I have no clue to what could be the problem. Although i’m noticing one thing which I think I should mention here. After the second step, when I add the library, I see the green check indicating everything is fine. But after I run my application (which crashes before it launches) I see a red cross which of course indicates something’s wrong.
