• Ffmpeg is installed, but I get the exception : You do not have ffmpeg installed on your machine

  I've searched for hours for a solution, but I haven't found one yet. Maybe someone here knows what is going wrong.

  


  I'm trying to make a Bar Chart Race in Python. Although I have downloaded and installed Ffmpeg,
I keep on getting multiple errors :

  I've tried installing ffmpeg with conda, pip and homebrew. When I check the version, i get the following :

• Cross-compile ffmpeg for arm64 on x64 host machine (macOS) ?

  I need to cross-compile ffmpeg for arm64 (M1 Macs, to be specific) from my x64 host Mac. I am able to build ffmpeg for my host architecture without issues (i.e. I have a working x64 build script and all the pre-requisites installed), but now need to modify my script to build for arm64.

  


  First of all, is this even possible / supported ? If so, how ?

  


  The official ffmpeg compilation guide doesn't mention anything helpful. I have looked at several code snippets online and tried using the following configure arguments, with no luck :

  


  --enable-cross-compile \
--arch=arm64 \


  


  I get the following error :

• Pims.open Throws "UnkownFormat Error" with "Invalid Argument" On One Machine But Not on Another

  I'm trying to do some video processing for a physics experiment, and I want to do it on my much more powerful Windows desktop computer as opposed to my Mac laptop.

  


  The following code works like a dream when run as a Jupyter notebook on my Mac :

  output.mp4 is just a run of the mill video file taken on a CCD camera ; I've tried converting it to a .MOV, I've tried other video files taken on different cameras, and I've tried running the file through FFmpeg to impose a 30 fps framerate ; everything I've tried works fine on my Mac and throws the above error on my Windows machine.

  


  For reference, I installed necessary packages for this code on both machines this morning, so it should all be up to date and the same on both.
