• Running a Python script directly within FFmpeg's filter complex

  As the title suggests I wish I could run my detection script inside the filter complex. The script should get input "IN" from the filter complex "OUT" and output a boolean value to filter this frame or keep it. Since FFmpeg is open source I wanted to ask Is this possible to do ? If yes any suggestion on where should I start or any help/hint is appreciated. BTW I am new to C programming. I have a Java/python background.

  


• Strange sound produced when playing audio by ffmpeg and SDL

  I am following an updated version of the the dranger tutorial (http://dranger.com/ffmpeg/tutorial03.html)

  I am able to decode video properly and display the same (controlling the framerate) using SDL.

  However when I play audio there is only a squeaking noise. I can figure out that the speech is correct, except it is high pitched.

  I am not sure what I am doing incorrect. I am using AUDIO_SYS16 as the spec in SDL. I can see that the decoded audio using ffmpeg is also AV_SAMPLE_FMT_S16.

  Any idea what is wrong.

  PS : I am doing this on a linux(ubuntu 12.10 on VBox) box and a MAC as well.

  I have to run this command line using VB.NET :

  Basically vspipe.exe get test.vpy script and apply filters or resize video input then the output is piped to ffmpeg for the encoding.

  If I use a normal Process declaration with vspipe it gives an error, "Unknown argument : |" and if i use ffmpeg simply it stack at inizialization.

  From cmd the script works good. That means that I have to do manually a pipe between vspipe and ffmpeg or there is a simpler way to do it ?

  If I must manually do pipe can someone tell me how to do it or at least a link ?
