  • MP3 to Youtube video format [on hold]

    17 janvier 2014, par user3027136

I am trying to convert some audio files and upload them to Youtube ; I am using a .jpg image as video and the .mp3 files as audio.
I've already managed to do it using ffmpeg, and it works on my computer (video plays the audio and shows the picture), but every time I upload it Youtube tells me the format is wrong, no matter what I instruct ffmpeg to do : avi, mp4, mpeg, mov atc.
Below is the command I used (ffmpeg) :

    for %A IN (*.mp3) DO ffmpeg -i "Youtube.jpg" -i "%A" -acodec copy "%A.avi"

Any improvement is appreciated as well as any other suggestion on how to upload mp3s on Youtube

  • Streaming images with ffmpeg gives shorter video

    24 juin 2014, par darko_5

I am streaming a video form my camera by passing to ffmpeg images from that camera. I am using command :

    ffmpeg -r 26 -re -f image2pipe -vcodec mjpeg -i - -c:v libx264 -f flv -preset ultrafast -s hd720 -maxrate 2000k -bufsize 150k rtmp://someaddress:port

My problem is that, when light is weak and/or computer is slow my fps number is getting lower, even so i set it to -r 26. Low fps causing that video playad on web side is sometimes in fast motion and file i save to disk is shorter than it should.
My opereting system is OS X. How can i do it so the video i s in proper speed.

  • x264 : Encoded videos need lots of CPU to play

    30 novembre 2014, par LTR

My computer (Intel Core 2 Duo T9300, 2.5GHz) can usually play any Full HD file, and Blu-Rays perfectly.

However, when I encode a Full HD file myself, the CPU is struggling and frames are dropped.

    Here’s my command line :

    ffmpeg.exe -r 24 -f concat -i list_of_png_files.txt -i w :\audio.wav -acodec copy -c:v libx264 -preset medium -b:v 10000k -shortest output.avi

I tried adding -maxrate 13000k after "-preset medium". However, x264 doesn’t seem to honor this - the framerate still reaches 20MBit at parts.

How can I encode videos in such a way as to reduce CPU usage during decoding ?
