• Video recoding with ffmpeg

  I asked in another question (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8012494/sorry-this-video-cannot-be-played-streaming-mp4-to-android/8012874#8012874) about video playback in android using VideoView. Apparently, the problem there is due to the way my video is encoded, as another video (512Kb mp4 off the web) plays correctly using my code. As videos are uploaded by my end users to the web site, I don't have any control of the videos themselves, however I do have control over re-coding these. I re-code them using ffmpeg to bring them to a standard MP4 (H.264+AAC) format and scale them to the same size (320x240).

  Here's the ffmpeg info of a video that would not play :

  I have two questions here, actually. First, which of the details in my "bad" video does android not like ? And, second, what parameters should I use with ffmpeg to recode my videos ? As present I use this :

  ffmpeg -i $input_video_file -y -s 320x240 -vcodec libx264 -vpre medium -acodec libfaac -b 510K -ar 48000 -aspect 4:3 $tmpfile.mp4
  
  qt-faststart $tmpfile.mp4 $output_video_file.mp4

  But this produces a video that's not playable on android. Any help is greatly appreciated.

• Linux Platform : Enlarge video screen size N times

  I am looking for a application on Linux platforms (Ubuntu/CentOS etc) that can enlarge video size N times. N could be any number, like 1.5, 4 etc

  For example, if I have a video with screen size 100*200, I want to make it 1.5 times larger, that will be : 150*300. Of course, I will expect the video quality to drop but it doesnt matter.

  I am not sure whether ffmpeg has this function but a quick Google lands me nowhere. So I am here now.

• ffmpeg video encoding for mobile devices

  I'm trying to encode the video file from f4v to mp4 for mobile devices and using 2 different ffmpeg versions with the same configuration files. Encoding goes ok for both files. The one that I convert using ffmpeg version N-32754-g936d4d4-Sherpya failing to play on my blackberry.
  This is the command line that I'm using :

  ffmpeg.exe -i some.avs -vcodec libx264 -b 500k -r 24 -acodec libfaac -ab 128k -ar 48000 -ac 2 -threads 0 -coder 0 -bf 0 -refs 1 -level 30 -maxrate 10000000 -bufsize 10000000 -y test.mp4

  The vido playes ok when I convert it using FFmpeg version SVN-r13712
  Could you give me some light on where the issue couls be ?
