• Libvpx unknown encoder with php exec

  I have centos7 with ffmpeg compiled with libvpx. I can run

  ffmpeg -i gif.gif -c:v libvpx -crf 12 -b:v 500K webm.webm

  which works perfectly but when I try the same command with php exec() it returns this :

• compile ffmpeg decode only without audio codecs

  I work on a media manager and use ffmpeg.exe to extract screenshots.
  With the latest size of ffmpeg.exe exceeding 35MB, I am attempting to build ffmpeg without the majority of its functions, to allow only saving of a frame of video.

  I had thought disabling many of the filters, Audio Codecs etc would shrink the size of ffmpeg to something more manageable.

  Following this guide

  to allow building of ffmpeg using Visual Studio 2015, I have come to the part of ./configuration and hit a wall.
  With so many options and no idea what all of them mean or do, I am asking if someone in the community can give me laymans instructions.

  I also know that I need to build x264, and possible x265 (HEVC), but am not sure if there is anything other codecs needed.
  In the end, I and am hoping to just have the one file, ffmpeg.exe for use in the media manager project.

  I am using the audioconverter module with the audiorecorderfield module in Drupal 7 with ffmpeg on my own vps running Aegir and Nginx. The audioconverter module has stopped converting wav files to mp3. Here's the error ;

  Warning: passthru() has been disabled for security reasons in _audioconverter_scheduler_ffmpeg_helper() (line 358 of /mysite/drupal-7.16/sites/all/modules/audioconverter/audioconverter.module). 

  And in my logs ;

  I can see the wav file is created by the audiorecorderfield module but the audioconverter module is failing on the conversion.

  Safe mod is OFF in php.ini so I don't know why audioconverter is not working.
